The stage is bustling with Lunar New Year plays.

Currently, many theaters in Ho Chi Minh City are breathing a sigh of relief regarding the Lunar New Year theater season of the Year of the Horse. Leading the way is the Youth World Theater, which has scheduled three performances a day, and every show has been sold out.

Despite preparing four new plays – "The Beauty Contest ," "The Ouija Board ," "The Late-Night Troupe ," and "A Million-Dollar Birthday" – it seems that Thế Giới Trẻ (Youth World) still hasn't fully met the demands of its beloved audience during the Lunar New Year theater season.

Old and new theaters alike are celebrating the Lunar New Year theater season.

The Thien Dang theater also sold out tickets every day. The play "Miss Island" by the Youth Theater, although not a new play, had six performances scheduled for Tet, yet all tickets were sold out a month before Tet.

Tickets sell out within half a day of going on sale, and the theater's auditorium has double the capacity of other venues, so it's safe to say this play is the "champion" in terms of ticket sales during this year's Lunar New Year theater season.

The Idecaf Theatre's performances of "The Thief's Village" and "The Pink Crow Spreads Its Wings" each achieved around 90% attendance. The Hong Van Theatre, with its three new plays, despite the inconvenient location due to limited parking, also achieved over 80% attendance per performance.

Actress Hong Van said the audience turnout exceeded her expectations. The two most popular plays at Truong Hung Minh's theater this year are... "The Four Scholars Who Passed the Imperial Examination" and " The Coconut Bridge Is Enough to Use ." Artist Minh Nhi said he was very happy that ticket sales were better than last year's Tet season, with each performance achieving 60-90% of the target.

The 5B Theater maintains 2-3 performances per day, and its focus on children's plays has also resulted in a decent ticket sales figure, over 60%. The New Stage, staging its first Tet (Lunar New Year) play, despite its location being quite far from the city center, still achieved over 60% ticket sales each day, which is a motivation for the theater to continue striving for greater success in the new year.
