(Dân trí) - Một sản phụ sắp "vượt cạn" ngay tại đoạn nước ngập sâu thuộc địa bàn thành phố Huế, may mắn được người dân hỗ trợ đưa đến bệnh viện.

According to Mr. T., at around 9:00 a.m. the same day, when the water level of the Huong River decreased, he took the opportunity to go out and suddenly saw the above scene at the intersection of Hung Vuong - Ba Trieu streets, in front of Go supermarket, in Thuan Hoa ward.

“Perhaps this pregnant woman took a boat from a deep flooded area to Hue Central Hospital, and at this point her water broke. Many people nearby ran to help, then a car passing by helped take the mother and child to the medical facility,” said Mr. T.

Mr. T. added that on the morning of October 29, the floodwaters at the Hung Vuong - Ba Trieu intersection had decreased. However, at present, the water in this area has risen again, flooding into people's houses.

On the same day, according to information from the Hue City Zero-Dong Vehicle Team, a woman gave birth in a rented room in a flooded area, in My Thuong ward.

Several days before the birth, the local authorities had come to persuade the mother many times, but she refused to go to the hospital. At present, due to lack of money, the mother has not taken her child to a medical facility even though the newborn is very weak.

According to the Hue City Hydrometeorological Station, in the past 6 hours, there has been very heavy rain in the city, especially in the communes of Long Quang, Nam Dong, Khe Tre, Loc An, Phu Loc and Chan May - Lang Co.

Total rainfall from 8am to 2pm on October 29, in some high areas such as Thuong Nhat 129mm, Huong Phu 170mm, Nam Dong 180mm.

It is forecasted that in the next 6 hours, the entire city of Hue will continue to have heavy, very heavy, and extremely heavy rain; total rainfall will be 50-100mm, with some places over 120mm; in the above communes, rainfall will be 80-150mm, with some places over 200mm.

According to the Hue City Civil Defense Command, heavy rain for many hours caused the water level of the Huong River to rise by 21cm in just 1 hour. By 2:00 p.m. on October 29, flood water on the Huong River at Kim Long station reached 4.33m, exceeding alarm level 3 by 0.83m.

Authorities warn that floodwaters on the Perfume River are rising rapidly, possibly reaching near their highest level on October 28, causing deep flooding throughout Hue city.
