From early morning, crowds of people flocked to the Na Ka plum valley – the main venue for the festival's activities.

According to the organizers, this year's festival program includes a series of activities: a fruit-picking competition within 3 minutes, requiring participants to pick fruit by hand, without shaking the tree, breaking branches, smashing the fruit, or performing any actions that could harm the plum tree.

Next, the competition involves eating the plums that the team has just picked. Each team will select two representatives to participate, with the requirement that they eat the plums attractively, leaving not too much flesh on the pit.

The plum-picking competition is exciting...

In addition, the competing teams also prepared a fruit platter with the theme of promoting the region's top-ranked natural destinations in the world , love for the homeland, building product brands, preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups… Especially noteworthy was the ceremony honoring 9 exemplary farming families who have contributed to building the Moc Chau plum brand.

The festival also included traditional sports and folk games; exhibitions and presentations about the "mận hậu" plum; a competition showcasing traditional cuisine; and a camping competition… All of these created a truly vibrant festival, offering exciting and unforgettable experiences, leaving a lasting impression on visitors.

It is known that the late-season plum tree was introduced to Moc Chau district in the 1980s. After more than 30 years of development, the plum tree has become a key product of this locality, helping many households effectively alleviate poverty.

The entire district currently has over 3,200 hectares of plum orchards, of which approximately 2,400 hectares are currently producing fruit. Moc Chau plums are grown and cared for according to VietGAP standards, a safe, sustainable, and environmentally friendly organic production process. The Moc Chau plum production area is included in the Son La province's safe fruit production zone plan.

In order to promote the Moc Chau plum brand to a wider audience of locals and tourists, the Fruit Picking Festival was held for the first time in 2014 and has since become an annual cultural and tourism event.

Besides Na Ka Valley, tourists can also visit other places such as Pa Phach Village, Pa Khen sub-district, the Farm area, the road to Ban On Five Caves, or Mu Nau plum valley... to enjoy delicious fruit right in the orchards, take photos, and personally select plums as souvenirs after the trip.

The Fruit Harvesting Festival serves as an opportunity to introduce and promote Moc Chau plums, honor plum growers, and provide them with a chance to interact, learn, and improve their knowledge and experience in planting and caring for plum trees. It also aims to boost communication and promotion efforts to promote "Moc Chau - A Leading Regional Natural Destination in the World" to the people of Moc Chau, as well as domestic and international tourists.

Specifically, it aims to convey the message: Producing safe agricultural products, saying no to herbicides and pesticides, contributes to restoring and maintaining a sustainable natural ecosystem, protecting the environment and human health.
