This Tet At Ty, the weather is mild, sometimes chilly. These are rare days when the South is warm and sunny all year round, enjoying a bit of cold from the North - Photo: QUANG DINH
The recent strong cold spell in the North, when diffusing to the South, still has an impact on the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and the South during this Lunar New Year.
In the past few days, the early mornings have been chilly with a cool breeze. This feeling was more evident yesterday and today, the second day of the Lunar New Year, because the low traffic volume reduces the amount of heat released into the atmosphere.
This morning, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City is cold with the lowest temperature on the iPhone weather app being 20 degrees Celsius. Some other places in the South are below 19 degrees Celsius.
Some people go out early to enjoy the spring, wearing warm clothes and scarves. The Tet holiday with this ideal weather makes people feel excited.
Mr. Truong Hoang Phuong, a technology driver, said the weather this year is so strange.
Every year the Tet holidays are very sunny, some years even hot, but I don't know why this year from the 28th lunar day it's been cold in the morning and cool all day.
It's the 2nd day of the new year and it's still cold. Thanks to that, I'm less tired driving and I see people happily celebrating Tet.
The streets of Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of the second day of Tet had cold wind and were deserted, making people feel even colder.
However, from today onwards, the temperature in the South will gradually increase due to the weakening of the cold air. Along with that, the subtropical high pressure (a form that causes hot weather and little cloud) will gradually become stronger.
Temperature on the morning of the 2nd day of the Lunar New Year
Monitoring data from the Southern Hydrometeorological Station shows that the temperature in the South this morning is quite ideal for spring travel.
In Phuoc Long ( Binh Phuoc ) 16.5 degrees Celsius, Dong Phu (Dong Xoai, Binh Phuoc) 18.7 degrees Celsius, Tay Ninh 17.2 degrees Celsius, Long Khanh (Dong Nai) 16.8 degrees Celsius, Ta Lai (Dong Nai) 15 degrees Celsius, Nha Be (HCMC) 20.3 degrees Celsius.
The Western provinces fluctuate from 19-22 degrees Celsius, especially Ca Mau 23 degrees Celsius.
