A video circulating on social media shows a retaining wall (concrete block) collapsing, bringing down red soil and causing a house below to fall, kicking up clouds of dust.
Authorities brought equipment to the scene and proactively demolished the remaining retaining wall.
This embankment is a remaining section of the embankment that collapsed two days ago, killing two people, injuring five, leveling one house, and damaging four others. Many residents who witnessed the landslide this afternoon were once again terrified and worried, believing that the embankment continued to collapse, destroying another house below.

The embankment collapsed, destroying the house below which had already been damaged.
Regarding this issue, on the evening of July 1st, in an interview with Thanh Nien newspaper, Mr. Dang Quang Tu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Lat City ( Lam Dong province), said that after discussions, agreement, and with the approval of the provincial and city leaders, they proactively demolished the remaining section of the embankment in alley 36 Hoang Hoa Tham (Ward 10).
Use excavators to remove some of the soil from the embankment.
Specifically, on July 1st, authorities brought in equipment to excavate the soil on top of the embankment section with many cracks and precariously high above the ground, posing a significant danger, in order to proactively demolish the remaining concrete section. "The demolition is proactive; the city has meticulously planned it, it's not a new landslide. When demolishing the embankment, the falling soil and rocks will bring down the already damaged house below. This was included in the plan; the city has worked with the homeowner, and the homeowner has agreed," Mr. Tú affirmed.

According to Mr. Tu, on Sunday (July 2nd), the city continued to demolish the remaining section of the embankment (only about 7 meters in length were demolished on the afternoon of July 1st, with about 10 meters remaining).
As Thanh Nien newspaper reported, following the horrific landslide in Da Lat on June 29th, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee directed relevant agencies to investigate and clarify the incident in order to hold accountable the individuals and organizations involved. Currently, the entire site has been sealed off, and unauthorized persons are not allowed to enter or leave the area.
