After two heartbreaking incidents, Van Hanh Mall speaks up about 'listening and understanding'

After two heartbreaking incidents occurred inside the Van Hanh Mall shopping center (HCMC), the center's operating unit officially spoke up and received great interaction from the community.

On April 12, Van Hanh Mall sent a letter to customers posted on the mall's website and Facebook. This is the first time Van Hanh Mall has officially spoken to customers after two consecutive incidents of people falling from buildings and dying at this mall.

In the letter, Van Hanh Mall expressed its deepest condolences for the pain and loss “that you and your family and loved ones have faced and are facing.” The mall affirmed that Van Hanh Mall's dedicated and friendly staff “are always welcoming, ready to share and accompany you.”

Notably, in the letter, Van Hanh Mall not only talked about consumer shopping but also emphasized listening, understanding and safety.

“Currently, Van Hanh Mall's customer care team is always on duty, ready to listen, advise and support customers when they come to visit, shop and use services here,” the letter stated.

In addition, the unit also said that it has increased the arrangement of professional security guards on duty on each floor, and a camera system has been installed to help customers feel secure.

“Whenever you need to slow down, reflect or share with friends, relatives, and colleagues about the joys and difficulties in life, Phuong Nam Bookstore or cozy coffee and afternoon tea shops at Van Hanh Mall are always ready to welcome you,” the letter said.

"Each of us has or is carrying heavy burdens and boulders that are difficult to share with anyone. However, we hope that you can open your heart to those around you, together untie the knots in your heart to go on a good journey", the letter conveys the message of openness to customers.

As of the afternoon of April 12, the letter had received more than 100,000 interactions, more than 4,600 comments and more than 7,500 shares, most of which expressed sympathy for the center.

Van Hanh Mall is a shopping mall that has been operating since 2018, with a commercial scale of 55,000m² with 1 basement and 7 floors above ground. It gathers more than 200 stores, domestic and foreign brands, becoming a familiar shopping place for people in Ho Chi Minh City.
