The young player from Ninh Binh was called up, bringing the total number of players on the list to 36, helping coach Kim Sang Sik have more calculations and choices for the upcoming tournament.

Vietnam U22 team shortens list before 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship
Following a professional evaluation period involving training sessions and two internal practice matches, the coaching staff decided to part ways with eight players: Nguyen Quang Vinh (SLNA), Nguyen Dang Duong (The Cong Viettel ), Le Dinh Long Vu (SLNA), Dinh Xuan Tien (SLNA), Nguyen Le Phat (PVF), Le Van Thuan (Dong A Thanh Hoa), Nguyen Bao Long (PVF), and Dinh Quang Kiet (HAGL).
Yesterday afternoon (July 6), the group of 8 players mentioned above returned to their home clubs to prepare for the new season, while waiting for the opportunity to participate in the next training sessions, towards the 2026 U23 Asian Qualifiers as well as the 33rd SEA Games.
According to the plan, the Vietnam U22 team will continue training in Ba Ria Vung Tau until July 12th. After that, the team will move to Tan Son Nhat airport to prepare for their flight to Indonesia on the morning of July 14th, officially beginning their journey to participate in the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship.
Before departing, coach Kim Sang Sik will announce the official list of 23 players, and the team will use the name Vietnam U23 Team to participate in the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship.
This tournament will take place from July 15 to 29. In the group stage, U23 Vietnam will meet U23 Laos on July 19 and U23 Cambodia on July 22. With two consecutive championships in 2022 and 2023, the U23 Vietnam team is expected to continue to successfully defend the title in the regional arena.
