According to Abdulaziz bin Salman, the state-owned oil and gas company Aramco has discovered two unconventional oil fields, one Arab light oil field in the eastern province, two natural gas fields and two natural gas reservoirs in the Rub' al Khali desert region.
Previously, on June 30th, Reuters (UK) reported that Saudi Arabia's state-owned oil company Aramco had signed contracts worth over $25 billion for the expansion of the Jafurah gas field. After the expansion, the field could produce 56 million cubic meters of standard natural gas per day by 2030.
This Middle Eastern country is striving to develop unconventional natural gas reserves, requiring advanced extraction methods such as those used in the shale oil and gas industry.
Jafurah is the country's largest unconventional natural gas field and potentially the largest shale oil and gas development field outside the U.S., with estimated reserves of 6.484 trillion cubic meters and 75 billion barrels of condensate.
Aramco CEO Amin Nasser shared: "Generating 56 million cubic meters of standard natural gas per day by 2030 will solidify Saudi Arabia's position as one of the world's leading natural gas producers."
