The number of new cases has decreased to 1050.

On the afternoon of May 14th, the Ministry of Health announced that in the past 24 hours, the country recorded 1,050 new cases of Covid-19, the lowest number of new cases in about three weeks.

Thus, since the beginning of the pandemic, Vietnam has had 11,590,617 confirmed cases, ranking 13th out of 231 countries and territories. In terms of the number of cases per million people, Vietnam ranks 120th out of 231 countries and territories (an average of 117,132 cases per million people).

The number of patients declared recovered today is 285. The total number of recovered cases is 10,632,334. The number of patients currently receiving oxygen is 52, including: Oxygen via mask: 43 cases; high-flow non-invasive ventilation (HFNC): 6 cases; non-invasive mechanical ventilation: 0 cases; invasive mechanical ventilation: 3 cases; ECMO: 0 cases.

Number of deaths: Average number of deaths recorded over the past 7 days: 1 case.

The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 in Vietnam to date is 43,201, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections.

The total number of deaths ranks 26th out of 231 territories, and the number of deaths per million population ranks 141st out of 231 countries and territories worldwide . Compared to Asia, the total number of deaths ranks 7th out of 50 (3rd in ASEAN), and the number of deaths per million population ranks 29th out of 50 Asian countries and territories (5th in ASEAN).

On May 13th, 496 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine were administered. Thus, the total number of vaccine doses administered is 266,323,385, including: 223,679,618 doses for people aged 18 and over: 70,908,700 doses of the first dose; 68,452,951 doses of the second dose; 14,343,927 doses of the booster dose; 52,119,546 doses of the first booster dose; and 17,854,494 doses of the second booster dose.

The total number of doses for children aged 12-17 years is 23,965,543: 9,130,889 doses for the first dose; 9,021,366 doses for the second dose; and 5,813,288 doses for the first booster dose.

The total number of doses for children aged 5-11 years is 18,678,224: Dose 1 is 10,220,421 doses; Dose 2 is 8,457,803 doses.
