Dien Bien Department of Home Affairs plays a good role in advising and organizing local government at two levels.

On August 26, at the seminar to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the State Organization Sector's Traditional Day on August 28 and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Home Affairs of Dien Bien province, comrade Tran Quoc Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee, affirmed that the Department of Home Affairs of Dien Bien has done a good job in advising and organizing the two-level local government.

On behalf of the Prime Minister, Comrade Tran Quoc Cuong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Comrade Le Thanh Do, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province presented the Government's Emulation Flag to the Department of Home Affairs of Dien Bien province.

Comrade Tran Quoc Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee, praised the Dien Bien Department of Home Affairs for proactively advising the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee in arranging and streamlining the system of administrative agencies and public service units, drastically reducing intermediary units, contributing to improving the efficiency, effectiveness and efficiency of state management and saving state budget resources.

With the responsible and focused advice of the Department of Home Affairs in the recent past, the organization of 2-level administrative units in Dien Bien province has been carried out carefully and methodically, ensuring compliance with the policies and orientations of the Central Government; at the same time, harmoniously resolving issues of staffing, arranging surplus staff, stabilizing the ideology of the team, and linking responsibilities in ensuring social security at the grassroots level.

Comrade Tran Quoc Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee acknowledged the contributions of generations of cadres and civil servants of Dien Bien Department of Home Affairs through the periods, contributing significantly to building an increasingly strong cadre and civil servant team of Dien Bien province.

In a very short and urgent time (from March 2025 to July 2025), the Department of Home Affairs of Dien Bien has focused on thoroughly implementing the spirit of "running and lining up" working day and night, without days off to promptly advise on the development and implementation of the plan, the Project to arrange 129 commune-level administrative units in the province into 45 new commune-level administrative units (reducing 84 units), reducing 65.1% in accordance with the direction of the Central Government.

Reviewing the historical milestones of the State organization sector and the establishment day of the Department of Home Affairs of Dien Bien province (November 17, 1965) in the past, comrade Nguyen Tien Dat, Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Dien Bien province, said that despite going through many historical periods with many different conditions, generations of cadres and civil servants of the Department of Home Affairs of Dien Bien have always been united, making important contributions to the overall development of the sector and Dien Bien province.

Implementing the Central Government's policy on streamlining the apparatus and organization according to Resolution No. 18, from March 1, 2025, Dien Bien province has organized the merger of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs into the Department of Home Affairs, named the Department of Home Affairs; at the same time, transferring the state management function of beliefs and religions from the Department of Home Affairs to the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

Upon the merger, the Department of Home Affairs received civil servants, public employees, and workers from the Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs. This is a milestone of special historical significance in streamlining the focal points, increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of State management in all areas of the home affairs sector; opening a new development stage with intertwined opportunities and challenges, requiring the efforts and outstanding efforts of all civil servants, public employees, and workers of the home affairs sector.

Also from March 1, 2025, comrade Trinh Hoang Thang was transferred to hold the position of Secretary of Muong Cha District Party Committee; comrade Nguyen Tien Dat, Secretary of Muong Ang District Party Committee, was transferred to hold the position of Director of the Department of Home Affairs until now.

Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do awarded Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee to collectives under the Department of Home Affairs of Dien Bien province with many achievements in implementing emulation movements.

Immediately after completing the consolidation work, implementing the policy of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo , and the Secretariat on not organizing the district level and rearranging and reorganizing commune-level administrative units; the Department of Home Affairs is the core agency advising on the development of a plan to rearrange administrative units in the province, which has been highly appreciated by the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee.
