In addition to providing material support, the provincial authorities and local departments organized many healthy and attractive festivals, entertainment, and recreational activities. These served the entertainment needs of residents and tourists during the Lunar New Year.
From the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), many lively and diverse activities have taken place, giving locals and tourists the opportunity to learn about and enhance their awareness and responsibility in preserving the traditional Tet culture of the nation. From January 12th, 2025, at the Provincial Youth Cultural Palace, the Tet experience program "Youth with Springtime Street Corners" has attracted a large number of enthusiastic young people.
Pham Mai Huong (Cao Thang ward, Ha Long city) shared: "Through activities like making banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), folk games, calligraphy, enjoying traditional market food , Tet decoration workshops, and a photo-taking corner, a simple and joyful Tet atmosphere of the past has been recreated. Coming here, we not only get to visit and experience the traditional Tet culture of our nation but also learn many useful skills."
The Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 300/KH-UBND dated December 26, 2024, on organizing activities for the Lunar New Year 2025 (Year of the Snake). Accordingly, the province directed relevant departments and localities to focus on organizing Lunar New Year activities in conjunction with the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam on February 3 (1930-2025), and to celebrate major national and provincial holidays and important historical events in 2025. These activities are intended to create a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere throughout society, generating new momentum and impetus for the successful implementation of Resolution 30-NQ/TU dated December 2, 2024, of the Provincial Party Committee on the direction and tasks for 2025, with the theme of the year being "Breakthrough in economic development, creating momentum for new tasks" from the very first months of the year. At the same time, it aims to awaken national pride, promote historical traditions, preserve culture, improve spiritual life, and strengthen national unity.
Notable activities include: the Lunar New Year's Eve program and the Spring Festival 2025 art program on the evening of the 29th of the Lunar month at 30/10 Square (Ha Long City); the cultural program "Celebrating the Glorious Party, Celebrating the Year of the Snake" on January 18th at the Vietnam-Japan Labor Culture Palace; an exhibition of documents, images combined with large-format propaganda posters to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam on February 3rd (1930-2025) from January 15th to February 25th at 30/10 Square and the Provincial Museum; the Quang Ninh Province Ethnic Groups' Tet Cultural Space Festival from January 22nd to February 2nd at the Flagpole Square, Provincial Planning, Fair and Exhibition Palace; and the Spring Book and Newspaper Fair 2025 from January 23rd to February 15th at the Provincial Library. The Department of Culture and Sports, in coordination with local authorities, will organize art performances and mobile propaganda programs to serve the people throughout the province, especially in remote areas, ethnic minority regions, border areas, and islands, from January 18th to February 30th…
Local authorities also focused on organizing activities to serve tourists, such as: decorating with colorful flags and flowers, organizing cultural and artistic programs, and traditional folk games; organizing rural markets and food fairs showcasing and introducing OCOP products, local specialties, and traditional dishes... Particularly noteworthy were the activities to welcome the first tourist group to visit Ha Long City, Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay, Van Don International Airport, and Mong Cai International Border Gate.
In addition, in various localities, activities celebrating the Lunar New Year are organized in accordance with the actual situation, meeting the entertainment needs of the people, such as: Ha Long City organizing the Ha Long Spring Flower Festival; an art program celebrating the Party and the Lunar New Year 2025; artistic fireworks displays, Bang Ca village festival... Uong Bi City organizing the 2025 Spring Flower Market; the "Vietnamese Village - Traditional Tet" program at the Yen Tu Village area; an art program celebrating the Party and the Lunar New Year 2025 associated with the 60th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's visit and speech to cadres, workers and people of ethnic groups in Uong Bi town on February 2nd (1965-2025), the 14th anniversary of the founding of Uong Bi City on February 25th (2011-2025); cultural, sports and entertainment activities at the City's Cultural and Sports Center area…
With recreational activities organized before and during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025, a joyful and exciting atmosphere will be created for the people and tourists. This will make the traditional Vietnamese New Year even more meaningful, motivating everyone to enter the new year with joy, hope, confidence, and new achievements.
