(Baohatinh.vn) - The boat racing festival contributes to promoting the sports movement and preserving the traditional cultural values of Tu My commune (Ha Tinh province), thereby enhancing the spiritual life of the people.

On the morning of April 25th, the People's Committee of Tu My commune organized a boat racing festival on the Ngan Pho River to commemorate the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026); the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026); and the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day (10th day of the 3rd lunar month).
Mr. Nguyen Kieu Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Tu My commune, beat the drum to officially open the boat racing festival. This year's boat racing festival features 15 teams from villages within Tu My commune. Each team consists of 15 athletes, competing in a knockout format to select the top 4 teams for the final round. In the photo: Leaders of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Tu My commune present commemorative flags to the participating teams.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the teams began the race.
With a spirit of unity, the teams competed fiercely and enthusiastically.

The boat race attracted a large number of locals and tourists who came to watch and cheer.
At the end of the boat racing festival, the organizing committee awarded the first prize to the Tan Thang village team...
...second prize for the Trung Thuong village team... ...third prize went to the combined team of Dong village - Yen Thinh village and the team from Tan Thuy village.
