Entering their away match at Go Dau Stadium, Song Lam Nghe An faced immense pressure as their direct competitors, such asSHB Da Nang and PVF-CAND, had both secured favorable results in their early matches of Round 24. This forced Coach Van Sy Son's team to earn points if they didn't want to be dragged further into the relegation battle.
The first half ended in a 0-0 draw despite the home team's pressure. In the second half, the Nghe An team scored early. In the 51st minute, from a counter-attack on the right wing, Michael Olaha delivered a precise cross for Ngo Van Luong to head the ball into the far corner, giving Nghe An the lead.
Becamex Ho Chi Minh City was then awarded a penalty. From the penalty spot, Viet Cuong unleashed a powerful shot. However, goalkeeper Cao Van Binh made an excellent dive to make the save. That save kept the Nghe An team struggling to stay in the V.League and put Becamex Ho Chi Minh City in a dangerous situation.

In the earliest match of Round 24 of the V.League 2025/26, PVF-CAND put considerable pressure on SHB Da Nang by brilliantly holding The Cong- Viettel to a 1-1 draw away from home, especially considering the home team had just welcomed back coach Velizar Popov.
PVF-CAND even managed to open the scoring, and despite having home advantage and superior ball control, The Cong had to wait until the middle of the second half to equalize.

The following day, SHB Da Nang took to the field to host Hai Phong, and despite the pressure created by PVF-CAND, SHB Da Nang had an excellent match with a brace of goals from Makaric to secure a full 3 points, helping coach Le Duc Tuan's team create a real points difference with PVF-CAND, instead of just using goal difference to determine their position as in previous rounds.
Not only that, Da Nang also significantly narrowed the gap with Hoang Anh Gia Lai and Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, teams ranked just above Da Nang but who both failed to secure 3 points in round 24.
Currently, Da Nang is only 1 point behind Becamex Ho Chi Minh City (12th place) and just one win away from Hoang Anh Gia Lai, who are in 11th place.
This situation makes the short remaining period of this season particularly interesting to watch, as theoretically, the opportunity to escape the relegation zone is still open for not only PVF-CAND but also Da Nang.
In other words, whether it's a race for the top 3 or a battle to avoid relegation, there's still no definitive scenario for the 2025/26 V.League season, and everything will depend on the final round of matches.
