Repairing damage on Ha Tinh coastal road

Taking advantage of favorable weather, in mid-May, Bien Dong Consulting and Construction Joint Stock Company mobilized human resources, machinery and equipment to repair damaged road surfaces at Km80+300 - Km81+150 of Provincial Road 547 (DT.547, also known as Ha Tinh coastal road) in Ky Bac commune, Ky Anh district.

Km80+300 - Km81+150 (Ban Bridge area) is one of the severely damaged sections on the coastal road. The asphalt concrete road surface in this section is cracked and broken, causing gravel to protrude, creating many "potholes" on the road surface, leading to a high risk of traffic accidents.

During the repair process, the damaged asphalt concrete was scraped, compacted, a layer of cement-reinforced crushed stone was applied, the road surface was cleaned, and emulsion was applied before two layers of C19 and C16 asphalt concrete were resurfaced.

After completing the preparation stages, the contractor mobilized a carpet line to deploy asphalt concrete pavement.

The contractor is currently trying to speed up construction progress to "make up" for the time interrupted by the erratic weather.

About 3km from the location where Bien Dong Consulting and Construction Joint Stock Company paved asphalt concrete is the section through Cam Linh commune (Cam Xuyen district) undertaken by Ha Tinh Road Construction Joint Stock Company No. 1.



In this area, the contractor is using machinery to scrape off the damaged and degraded concrete layer of the road surface. The old road surface is scraped up to the K98 embankment layer. This section will also be constructed with crushed stone reinforced with cement, the road surface will be cleaned, emulsion will be applied and 2 layers of asphalt concrete will be resurfaced.

According to research, the project to repair damaged road surfaces on some sections of the Ha Tinh coastal road has a budget of 22.3 billion VND, taken from the local road and inland waterway system maintenance fund in 2024, invested by the Ha Tinh Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.

Mr. Ho Thanh Binh - Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said: Recently, the project construction process has encountered some difficulties, especially the impact of the weather when there were thunderstorms. Therefore, when the weather is sunny and dry, the unit requires the contractor to add more manpower and machinery to speed up the construction and complete the project soon.

Along with ensuring the progress and quality of the project, the investor also requires the contractor to strengthen solutions to ensure traffic safety for the sections that are both in operation and under construction. At both ends of the construction section, guards are assigned to guide and direct traffic, avoiding congestion because the road surface at these locations is almost only wide enough for 2 lanes.
