
In August alone, Hanoi recorded 3.18 million visitors, a 27.5% increase compared to the same period last year. This is considered an important stepping stone, creating momentum for the tourism industry to break through during the peak season at the end of the year.
By the end of August, Hanoi had 3,761 accommodation establishments with over 71,000 rooms; the average occupancy rate for hotels reached 59%. The city currently has 2,643 travel agencies, over 9,200 tour guides, and 58 service establishments meeting standards for serving tourists.
Besides increasing the number of tourists, Hanoi is implementing various solutions to develop tourism products, promote tourism, and train human resources. Notable activities include: sending a delegation to participate in the 2025 World Expo and promote Hanoi tourism in Japan; working with Emirates Airlines to promote the strengths and potential of Hanoi's tourism development and implementing tourism promotion programs along the airline's routes departing from Hanoi.
In September and the final months of the year, Hanoi will continue to launch new products such as "Hanoi Tourism - The Quintessence of Vietnam 2025," organize the Autumn Festival, the Ao Dai Festival, and the Hanoi Beverage Festival 2025… At the same time, the city will participate in the ITB India Fair and the Vietnam tourism promotion program in India; the IFTM Topresa International Tourism Fair and tourism development cooperation in France in 2025.
The sector is promoting the development of community-based tourism linked to agriculture and rural areas between Hanoi and provinces in the Central and Central Highlands regions; completing the project to innovate the organizational model, management methods, preservation, and promotion of the value of the Huong Son historical site. In particular, the sector is coordinating and participating in activities and events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.
The positive results of the past eight months are proof of the capital's attractiveness, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable development and building Hanoi into one of the leading destinations in the region.
