With the trend of industrial development in the area, the rubber plantation area in Tra Tan commune has also been affected. The commune is focusing on improving the quality and efficiency of rubber production in villages with suitable land, including many areas inhabited by ethnic minorities.

According to the People's Committee of Tra Tan commune, rubber trees have proven their long-term economic effectiveness, especially for households with sufficiently large areas and who apply the correct technical procedures. People are gradually adopting advancements in planting, caring for, and tapping rubber, helping to increase productivity, improve rubber quality, and extend the harvesting period.

Currently, the entire commune has approximately 5,447 hectares of rubber trees, mainly concentrated in hamlets 1, 2, 3, 4A, 1A, and 1B... "In the future, the local government intends to only plant new trees or replant in areas that are suitable for planning and ecological conditions," said Mr. Do Duc Anh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tra Tan commune.

In addition, the commune is strengthening guidance for people to apply scientific and technical methods in cultivation and harvesting to reduce costs and increase productivity. It is also promoting people's participation in cooperatives and linking with purchasing businesses to stabilize product output.

Rubber tree development is integrated with national target programs on building new rural areas, sustainable poverty reduction, and economic development in ethnic minority areas. In addition, the locality is researching intercropping and livestock farming models under rubber trees to increase income and reduce risks for the people.

Following the merger, the population size and geographical area of the new Tra Tan commune have undergone many changes. Currently, the commune has one village, Village 4, which is exclusively inhabited by the Chau Ro ethnic minority, with 409 households and 1,759 inhabitants, accounting for approximately 6.1% of the total population. In addition, many households belonging to the Tay, Hoa, Nung, K'ho, and other ethnic groups live interspersed in the remaining 11 villages.

According to Elder Tho De, Head of the Front Committee of Hamlet 4: “The hamlet has an area of about 455 hectares, of which agricultural land accounts for 428 hectares. The crop structure includes 162 hectares of annual crops such as rice and vegetables, and 266 hectares of perennial crops, mainly rubber, pepper, and cashew.” For many years, Elder Tho De has been recognized as an excellent farmer in production and business. Many households in the hamlet have become well-off thanks to agricultural production, with rubber trees bringing in hundreds of millions of dong annually for some households. For example, during the recent rubber harvest, many households also earned a high income.

According to the assessment of the People's Committee of Tra Tan commune, the development of rubber trees in ethnic minority areas has brought about significant changes. First and foremost, it has improved income and living standards. Compared to previous short-term crops, rubber provides a more stable source of income, helping many households accumulate capital, gradually escape poverty, and improve their living standards. The people are gradually changing their farming practices from fragmented and spontaneous production to planned production, adhering to technical procedures... As a result, it has contributed to the sustainable poverty reduction and successful rural development of Tra Tan commune.

"

The development of rubber plantations not only provides a relatively stable source of income but also creates regular jobs for local workers, reducing seasonal unemployment and preventing workers from leaving the area to seek employment elsewhere.
