Changing habitat

In early August 2025, the area north of the Doi Canal in Chanh Hung ward began to change. The dilapidated houses that had been built close together along Nguyen Duy Street extending to the Doi Canal were demolished. The cramped areas with their makeshift houses are now open spaces, offering a panoramic view of the south bank of the Doi Canal.

Having lived on the north bank of the Doi Canal for over 30 years, Mr. Tran Huy Hoang (65 years old) expressed his excitement at the project's commencement: "The people here have been waiting for this day for a long time. I hope the project will be completed on schedule so that people can enjoy a green living environment as desired after the project is finished."

While in the process of moving to a new residence, Ms. Le Thi Tuyet Nga, a resident of Chanh Hung ward, shared that her family had lived along the Doi Canal for over 40 years in a house of nearly 40 square meters , with 8 people in the household. “Previously, this area had a lot of mosquitoes, especially during the rainy season. Now that the city has a plan to relocate and beautify this riverside area, we fully support it,” Ms. Nga confided.
