Introduction: The Gau Tao Festival takes place annually in Hang Kia and Pa Co communes, Mai Chau district ( Hoa Binh ). This is a traditional folk festival, a long-standing cultural and religious activity of the Mong people in Hoa Binh. After the pole-raising ceremony, the festival begins with the young men and women, the elderly and children of the Mong people holding hands and dancing to the rhythm of the panpipe. In Mong culture, the sound of the panpipe represents spirituality and traditional beliefs, and is a sacred object in Mong rituals and festivals.
