According to initial information, at noon on May 24th, a passenger car with license plate 51K-185.11 was traveling on the Phan Thiet-Dau Giay expressway, heading from Dong Nai city to Lam Dong province.
Upon reaching kilometer 59+600, the driver unexpectedly encountered a cow that had run from the median strip into the road. The situation unfolded so quickly that the driver did not have time to react, resulting in a head-on collision.
After the powerful collision, the cow was thrown off the car; the hood was ripped off, the front of the vehicle was severely damaged; and the airbags deployed.

At the time of the unusual accident, there were no vehicles traveling alongside, so no collision occurred with other vehicles.
The incident did not result in any casualties. The entire event was recorded by the car's dashcam.
Immediately after receiving the report, forces from Highway Traffic Police Team No. 6 quickly arrived at the scene to coordinate with relevant agencies to handle the incident.
Reporters from Nhan Dan Newspaper have also observed that on the Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet section of the expressway, people are grazing livestock such as cows and goats in the traffic safety corridor and across the expressway. This poses a risk to traffic safety, especially for drivers traveling at high speeds.

*Previously, in early May, after the opening (phase 1) of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway section passing through Chau Pha commune, Ho Chi Minh City, there was a situation where people were grazing livestock such as cows and goats in the traffic safety corridor and crossing the expressway.
The People's Committee of Chau Pha commune requests the investor to urgently conduct a survey of the entire route passing through the commune to assess potential traffic safety hazards, areas where people frequently cross, graze livestock, or gather on pedestrian bridges.
