The family of General Vo Nguyen Giap has announced the temporary suspension of visits to his tomb at Vung Chua - Yen Island (Phu Trach commune, Quang Tri province ). This decision was made after the area was severely affected by Typhoon No. 10.
According to information released on the afternoon of October 3rd, many structures in the Vung Chua - Yen Island area have been damaged and require time for repair. During the repair period, activities to welcome officials, citizens, and tourists to offer incense and pay respects at the General's tomb will be temporarily suspended to ensure safety and maintain the landscape and order of the tomb area.

The General's family affirmed that, immediately after the repairs are completed, the tomb will be reopened to serve compatriots, soldiers, and tourists from all over the country who wish to visit.
Over the years, the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap at Vung Chua - Yen Island has become a sacred site, attracting millions of visitors. It is not only a spiritual destination but also a symbol of the profound gratitude that the people of the whole country have for the General, the outstanding disciple of President Ho Chi Minh , and the Commander-in-Chief of the Vietnam People's Army.
