Temporarily suspend some tax industry information technology applications from May 23 to June 15

The Tax Department has just issued Notice 237/TB-CT dated May 14, 2025 on the plan to temporarily suspend tax application systems to serve the relocation of the Tax Department's Data Center. Accordingly, a number of applications included in the plan to transfer the main Data Center to a new location will be temporarily suspended from May 23 to June 15. During this time, a number of tax application systems will be temporarily suspended to serve the conversion work. This work is to ensure data security, improve operational efficiency and continuity of the information technology infrastructure of the entire tax sector.

According to the content of Notice 237/TB-CT, implementing Official Dispatch No. 2516/BTTTT-CATTT dated June 27, 2024 of the Ministry of Information and Communications on guiding a number of solutions to enhance information system security, the Tax Department will move the main Data Center (TTDL) to a new location from May 23 to June 15. During this time, a number of tax applications will temporarily stop operating to serve the system conversion.

Conversion plan:

First , the downtime to convert the application system from the primary data center environment to the backup data center environment and vice versa:

+ Electronic Invoice Application: Suspended for 4 hours from 0:00 to 4:00 on May 24 (Saturday) and from 0:00 to 4:00 on June 14 (Saturday).

+ Electronic Tax Service Application and Transmission Axis: Suspended for 48 hours from 6:00 p.m. on May 23 (Friday) to 4:00 p.m. on May 25 (Sunday) and from 6:00 p.m. on June 13 (Friday) to 4:00 p.m. on June 15 (Sunday).

Second , the time the Tax Department's application system is operated at the backup data center (DRC) with performance reaching 70% compared to the main data center:

+ Electronic Invoice Application: From 4:00 a.m. on May 24 (Saturday) to 0:00 a.m. on June 14 (Saturday).

+ Electronic Tax Service Application and Transmission Axis: From 4:00 p.m. on May 25 (Sunday) to 6:00 p.m. on June 13 (Friday).

Third , the time for the Tax Department's application system to resume operation on the main database:

+ Electronic Invoice Application: From 4:00 a.m. on June 14 (Saturday).

+ Electronic Tax Service Application and Transmission Axis: From 4:00 p.m. on June 15 (Sunday).

Scope of influence during system downtime:

Firstly , taxpayers temporarily stop using the following applications and services:

+ Electronic Invoice Application.

+ Electronic Tax Service Application includes: Electronic Tax Service for Enterprises (eTax), Electronic Tax Service for Individuals (iCanhan), Electronic Tax Service on Mobile Devices (eTax Mobile), Electronic Commerce Portal (TMĐT), Electronic Information Portal for Foreign Suppliers (NCCNN), Electronic Tax Service on National Public Service Portal, Ministry of Finance Public Service Portal, Provincial Public Service Portal.

Second , external units and organizations temporarily suspend the service of transmitting and exchanging information with the Tax Department, including:

Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy - Ministry of Industry and Trade, Department of Land Registration and Information Data - Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Administrative Procedure Control - Government Office , Vietnam Register - Ministry of Construction, Department A08, C06, C08, V01 - Ministry of Public Security, People's Committees of provinces/cities under the Central Government, Department of Information Technology and Digital Transformation, Customs Department, Department of Statistics, State Securities Commission, State Treasury, Vietnam Social Security, Department of Private Enterprise Development and Collective Economy, T-VAN units, Commercial banks, organizations providing solutions, organizations receiving, transmitting and storing electronic invoice data.
