Previously, right after the end of the 2024-2025 school year, two biological sisters, TMN, born in 2009 and TMS, born in 2010, residing in Muong Hum commune, Lao Cai province, searched on social networks and took a bus to Hong Ha ward, Hanoi city to work for a restaurant with the purpose of taking advantage of the summer break to work extra to earn money to help their parents.
After 2 months of working, the owner paid the two children. However, when he heard the two children say they would quit their jobs to go back to school, the owner did not agree and confiscated the previous wages, kept their ID cards, and required N and S to stay and continue working.
Too afraid of not being able to return home, losing their wages and ID cards, the two children called home to ask for help from their parents.
After learning the information, N and S's parents went to the Muong Hum Commune Police Station in Lao Cai Province to report the incident. At the Commune Police Station, the parents were instructed by the Commune Police and contacted the Hong Ha Ward Police Station in Hanoi to go to N and S's workplace to work with the business owner. The business owner then returned the children's ID cards and wages, and let them take a bus home.

After returning home safely, N and S and their families wrote letters of thanks to the Lao Cai Provincial Police, Hanoi City Police; especially the Muong Hum Commune Police and Hong Ha Ward Police for quickly verifying and intervening to help the two children return to their families to continue going to school.
