Beware of thunderstorms and heavy rain

According to the forecast of Lao Cai Province's Hydrometeorological Station, due to the influence of storm No. 5, localities in the province will have cloudy skies with scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain, and cold weather at night and early morning in mountainous areas.

Widespread thunderstorms are likely to be accompanied by extreme phenomena such as hail, tornadoes, strong winds and lightning strikes. Therefore, local people, especially in mountainous areas, need to be on guard against the above natural disasters causing damage. Be alert to localized heavy rains due to terrain conditions that can cause sudden flash floods in small streams and landslides in steep terrain.

CENTRAL AREA

Northern region: cloudy, scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally moderate rain, heavy rain, Southeast wind level 2, cold at night in high mountainous areas, temperature from 16 to 26 degrees Celsius.

Southern region: cloudy, scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain, light wind, temperature from 20 to 26 degrees Celsius.

Lao Cai ward area and surrounding areas: cloudy, moderate rain, heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, Southeast wind level 2, temperature from 23 to 26 degrees Celsius.

Yen Bai ward and surrounding areas: cloudy, rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, Southeast wind level 2, temperature from 24 to 27 degrees Celsius.

TOURIST AREA

Sa Pa tourist area: cloudy, showers, sometimes moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, light wind, cold at night and morning, temperature from 16 to 19 degrees Celsius.

Bac Ha tourist area: cloudy, showers, sometimes moderate rain and thunderstorms, Southeast wind level 2, cold at night and morning, temperature from 17 to 20 degrees Celsius.

Nghia Lo tourist area: cloudy, showers, sometimes moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, light wind, temperature from 21 to 26 degrees Celsius.

Mu Cang Chai tourist area: cloudy, showers, sometimes moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, Southeast wind level 2, cold at night and morning, temperature from 20 to 25 degrees Celsius.
