According to a notice from the People's Committee of Trieu Son District, despite the district People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training, and the People's Committee of Trieu Son town having disseminated and explained the policy and procedures for merging Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School into Le Van Tam Primary School, the majority of parents of students at Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School have not yet agreed to the merger.
Given the above situation, in order to ensure security and order, and to guarantee the school attendance of students at Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School, the District People's Committee has considered temporarily suspending the merger of the two schools.
The District People's Committee requested the Trieu Son Town People's Committee not to proceed with the school merger without first consulting with officials, teachers, parents, and the public. Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School will remain in its current location and continue teaching and learning as usual.
Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School is required to disseminate information and encourage students not to skip school without permission, as this negatively impacts their studies; and to encourage parents to continue sending their children to school. If parents still deliberately refuse to send their children to school, it violates the children's right to education.
Teachers are tasked with closely monitoring the situation, the number of students attending class, and managing and organizing normal teaching activities. Daily, they compile a list of students who are absent without reason and report it to the school leadership, who will then report it to the Town People's Committee...
As reported by Tuoi Tre Online, on the afternoon of March 27, many parents of Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School in Trieu Son town kept their children from attending school to protest the merger of Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School with Le Van Tam Primary School.
On the morning of March 28th, leaders of the Trieu Son District People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training, and local authorities held a dialogue with residents whose children attend Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School. During the dialogue, residents requested that Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School be retained to facilitate students' access to education.
