Streamlined apparatus, prosperous economy

Tan Thuan commune currently has an area of nearly 170 km², a population of more than 35 thousand people, and the administrative headquarters is located at the old location of Tan Thuan commune People's Committee. As a coastal commune playing an important role in the socio-economic development of the old Dam Doi district, after the merger, Tan Thuan has formed a streamlined administrative apparatus, reduced focal points, and shortened administrative procedures. The staff and civil servants are arranged reasonably, maximizing the strengths of each person. The consolidation of resources also helps to concentrate the budget on investing in traffic infrastructure, schools, medical stations, electricity, water, and climate change response projects.

Not only in the administrative field, Tan Thuan commune also opens a new step in economic development. Aquaculture, agriculture and trade - services are allocated reasonably, avoiding spreading. People benefit from production support policies, many households boldly convert to farming models combined with sustainable aquaculture.

In particular, the Tan Thuan Wind Power Project , a key project of the Ca Mau coastal wind power project, was officially inaugurated and put into operation in April 2022. With a total capacity of 75 MW, a scale of 18 wind turbines, and an investment capital of more than VND 3,800 billion, the project is invested by Ca Mau Renewable Energy Investment Joint Stock Company (CMC). This is also the first nearshore wind power plant in Ca Mau province.

Mr. Vu Van Thang's family (Thuan Hoa C hamlet, Tan Thuan commune) develops a production model combining sustainable aquaculture.

Since its operation, Tan Thuan Wind Power Plant has added about 215 million kWh/year to the national power system, contributing to ensuring energy security, promoting the local economy and the whole province. Not only providing clean electricity, the project also creates jobs for hundreds of local workers, contributing stably to the local budget for infrastructure investment. This is also an important driving force to promote logistics services, opening up a sustainable development direction for Tan Thuan. Traffic infrastructure, especially the Ganh Hao bridge under construction, promises to connect Tan Thuan with neighboring areas, facilitating the trade of aquatic products, salt and agricultural products.

Many difficulties arise

In addition to the advantages, Tan Thuan still faces many difficulties. The current administrative headquarters is still cramped, not meeting the needs of a large-scale commune. Information technology equipment for digital transformation is limited. Some officials have redundant positions, while in some areas there is a shortage of specialized personnel. The large area and large population cause documents and procedures to increase rapidly, sometimes causing overload.

People also encountered initial difficulties when changing administrative addresses, adjusting household registration, land documents, etc. Some households had to travel further to the new headquarters to complete procedures, requiring the sharing and cooperation of people with the government.

Despite many obstacles, the establishment of Tan Thuan commune after the merger not only demonstrates the determination to streamline the apparatus, but also opens up new opportunities for socio-economic development. With the determination of the Party Committee, the government and the consensus of the people, Tan Thuan will soon adapt, gradually becoming a new model of stable and sustainable commune.
