This was shared by Associate Professor Dr. Vu Duc Khien - Deputy Director of the Center for Non-Traditional Security Training, Institute of Non-Traditional Security (School of Management and Business, Vietnam National University , Hanoi ) - during a presentation on the Non-Traditional Security Assistant (NSA) training program held on the afternoon of March 13th.
Mr. Khien stated that the training program for non-traditional security assistants was created to meet the essential need for ensuring people's safety and security in the new context.
Through this program, students will gain access to fundamental knowledge, combined with the development of advanced "3-in-1" professional skills including security, secretarial, and assistant roles, and receive a professional skills certificate. Afterward, students will work in agencies, organizations, schools, hospitals, businesses, etc., both domestically and internationally (with a preference for South Korea, Taiwan, and Europe).
In addition, graduates can become security leaders (commanders), secretaries, or assistants for agencies, organizations, businesses, schools, and hospitals in Vietnam.
Additionally, there is an opportunity to apply for a Bachelor's degree in Non-Traditional Security Management at the School of Management and Business, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
In the training program for non-traditional security assistants, trainees will gain access to four fundamental knowledge areas: an overview of politics , law, and economics; foreign language skills; information technology skills; and specialized skills in fire prevention, firefighting, rescue, emergency response, and driving. This will help meet the significant demand for security services and ensure safety and security today.
The program prioritizes the recruitment of citizens who have graduated from high school and completed their military service under the Ministry of Public Security or the Ministry of National Defense. Applications for the first course will be accepted from March 15th, with a training period of 6 to 9 months, and will be conducted intensively at the Center for Non-Traditional Security Training (Ba Vi District, Hanoi).
With a non-residential training format, the program is held at the Institute of Non-Traditional Security (School of Management and Business, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) and iSPACE Cybersecurity College (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City).
What is non-traditional security?
According to Professor Nguyen Van Nhat, director of the Center for Non-Traditional Security Training, Institute of Non-Traditional Security (School of Management and Business, Vietnam National University, Hanoi), non-traditional security issues are those arising from non-military impacts such as food insecurity, water pollution, air pollution, cybersecurity, kidnapping, etc.
These are risks that threaten the safety and security of individuals, families, agencies, organizations, schools, and businesses in the context of Vietnam and the world entering a stage of development based on science and technology.
