With only three weeks left, over 36,500 students in the province will take the 2026 High School Graduation Examination, held on June 11th and 12th. In this "final stretch," high schools are accelerating review sessions, tightening study habits, and paying attention to students' psychology, health, and exam conditions to ensure they enter the exam with the highest level of confidence.

Over 36,500 candidates registered to take the exam.
According to Mr. Vo Van Be Hai, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, preparations for the 2026 High School Graduation Examination are being carried out urgently, seriously, and according to plan.
The entire province has over 36,500 registered candidates; it is expected that 91 examination centers will be set up with more than 1,500 examination rooms and over 5,200 officials, teachers, and staff will be mobilized to serve the examination. According to the plan, candidates will complete the registration procedures on June 10th; the official exams will be held on June 11th and 12th; and June 13th will be a reserve day.
A key difference this year is that the exam period has been shortened compared to previous years. Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training requires schools to proactively develop review plans early, organize scientific and targeted exam preparation, and increase the number of mock exams to familiarize students with the new exam structure.
“During the final stretch, students need to remain calm and confident, avoid rote learning or cramming excessively; closely follow teachers' instructions, systematize key knowledge, and maintain good health to enter the exam in the best possible state,” Mr. Vo Van Be Hai advised. This is the consistent viewpoint of the education sector during this year's exam season: Effective revision is more important than mechanically increasing the number of study hours.
At Tieu Can High School, Principal Le Thi Cuc Hoa stated that, entering the final stage, the school is increasing weekly professional development meetings and requiring homeroom teachers and subject teachers to closely monitor the learning progress of each student. The key point during this period is to carefully categorize students in order to provide appropriate support.
Students with limited knowledge receive enhanced tutoring in basic content to ensure they meet graduation requirements; while the group of above-average and excellent students continue to be trained in application-based questions to improve their university entrance exam scores. "To ensure students confidently enter the exam room, the entire system must be involved, from school leaders, homeroom teachers, subject teachers to parents," Ms. Cúc Hoa shared.
At Doan Thi Diem High School (Dai Dien commune), Mr. Phan Van Phuc, the school principal, said that teachers are currently focusing on reviewing all core knowledge, closely following the sample exam questions, and strengthening students' test-taking skills. During this time, teachers must prioritize key areas and avoid teaching too broadly. Students need to practice with exam questions in realistic conditions to develop reflexes in handling questions, managing time, and maintaining a stable mindset in the exam room.
Review your knowledge, stay healthy.
At Pham Thai Buong High School (Tra Vinh ward), Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, the Vice Principal, said that the school's review period is entering its final weeks. The school is organizing 61 review classes for 506 12th-grade students, combining in-person and online learning via the K12Online system to create conditions for students to proactively review.
After the mock exams, teachers provide detailed feedback to help students identify their weaknesses and make adjustments in the final stages. Homeroom teachers regularly coordinate with parents to monitor student attendance, mental well-being, and health. "The most important thing right now is to focus on the key areas, get enough sleep, maintain a stable mindset, and believe in the preparation we've made," emphasized Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan.
In addition to exam preparation, schools are stepping up their efforts to support students during the exam season, identifying disadvantaged students and those living far from exam locations to provide assistance with transportation, meals, and living conditions during the exam days. Not only teachers, but also 12th-grade students themselves clearly feel the intense pressure of this final stage.
Tran Vu Minh Anh, a 12th-grade student from class 12A8 at Luu Van Liet High School (Long Chau ward), said: “After the review sessions in class, most students grasped the material quite well because the teachers guided them very thoroughly, especially with the types of questions that required high-level application. I found the teacher very dedicated in guiding us to avoid making small mistakes. The students in the class actively reviewed and discussed with each other during the learning process.” However, according to Minh Anh, the pressure of this year's exam is also greater as the exam is predicted to have a high level of differentiation. Therefore, studying in class alone is not enough; “we still have to review and study on our own at home.”
As the clock ticks down to the exam day, effective studying is crucial. With coordinated preparation from the education sector, schools, families, and the students themselves, the 2026 high school graduation exam in the province is expected to be conducted safely, seriously, and with positive results.
