On August 16th, the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper and its Youth Union, in coordination with the Thoi Lai District People's Committee (Can Tho City), presented the "Ho Chi Minh Bookcase: Nurturing Dreams" to Thoi Lai High School. The bookcase contains nearly 300 books on the moral example of Ho Chi Minh , life skills, literature, and more.

The majority of the books are about the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh and his love for Vietnamese children. The donation of the bookshelves aims to contribute to the development of reading culture among students in remote schools. In addition, the organizers also provided scholarships and practical gifts for the students before the start of the new school year.
In addition to the bookshelves, disadvantaged students in Thoi Lai District received 50 scholarships (1 million VND each), 30 traditional Vietnamese dresses (áo dài), 70 backpacks, 1,300 cartons of milk, and 2,000 notebooks, with a total value of 640 million VND.
Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper donates a bookshelf dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh to Thoi Lai High School.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Ly Viet Trung, Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper and Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, shared: "The books, gifts, and scholarships presented today are the result of the hard work and dedication of many citizens and businesses. We hope the children will study hard to live up to the expectations of their parents and teachers and to become useful members of society in the future."
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoang, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thoi Lai District, said that Thoi Lai is a rural area. The entire district has 63 poor households (accounting for 0.21% of the population) and 912 near-poor households (accounting for 3.07% of the population). Some students do not have the necessary conditions to attend school. Therefore, the aforementioned gifts are very meaningful to them.

"In particular, the Ho Chi Minh bookshelf will provide students and teachers with a rich source of materials for research, learning, raising awareness, and enriching their knowledge. Hopefully, from here, students will always have a diligent and hardworking attitude towards learning to consistently achieve good results in their studies," Mr. Hoang shared.
"The Ho Chi Minh Bookcase: Nurturing Dreams" is a project launched by the Youth Union of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper, aiming to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo on promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style. Launched on May 24th, the project has so far been implemented in two locations: Phuoc Binh B Primary School (Trang Bang Town, Tay Ninh Province) and Vinh Binh Bac Commune (Vinh Thuan District, Kien Giang Province). The project is expected to run until May 2025, with the goal of bringing more bookcases to schools in remote and disadvantaged areas.
