During the period 2022-2025, the entire province implemented 642 projects supporting production development, with over 13,300 households participating, including more than 6,800 poor households. Notably, 100% of poor and near-poor households with the capacity to work in former poor districts received support to improve their production capacity – creating an important foundation for sustainable poverty alleviation.
In Na Pai village, Dong Phuc commune, a vocational training course on planting and processing Shan Tuyet tea has opened up new job opportunities for many laborers from impoverished households.
Ms. Trieu Thi Toan, one of the active participants in the course, shared: "Through this course, I have gained a lot of knowledge about tea plant care and tea processing. I hope to be able to process more high-quality products, enhance the value of tea plants, and improve the lives of the local people."
Beyond vocational training linked to local production, Thai Nguyen is also actively promoting job placement through various channels.
According to estimates, by the end of 2025, the entire province will support job placement for approximately 8,500 workers from poor, near-poor, and newly-escaped-poverty households; at the same time, about 2,000 workers in former poor districts will receive vocational training, of which 1,800 will prepare to work abroad under contract.
In addition to specialized agencies, in many localities, associations and organizations also play an important role in bringing employment policies closer to the people. The Farmers' Association of Phu Luong commune is one of the units actively organizing vocational training classes, counseling, and job orientation for its members.
Ms. Duong Thi Hong, Permanent Vice President of the Phu Luong Commune Farmers' Association, affirmed: The Association regularly coordinates with relevant agencies to organize short-term vocational training courses, job counseling, and labor export programs for its members, especially poor member households. We prioritize professions suitable to local conditions such as tea processing and cooking, so that people can start working immediately after completing the training.
Alongside direct vocational training, Thai Nguyen province has also invested in building labor market information infrastructure, maintaining the effectiveness of online job exchanges, and updating databases of job seekers and employers, contributing to helping poor laborers access job opportunities more transparently and conveniently.
From small classes in villages and job counseling sessions at local centers, many poor laborers have gained new skills, new jobs, and renewed hope for the future. Employment not only provides income but also opens a path for people to proactively improve their lives, gradually reducing their dependence on subsidies and progressively raising their quality of life.
It can be affirmed that job support is becoming a crucial "lever" in Thai Nguyen's sustainable poverty reduction efforts. From policy to practice, from vocational training centers to factories and workshops, and even working abroad, new opportunities are opening up for poor workers – so that the journey out of poverty is not just a goal, but is gradually becoming a reality.
