Training on quality management and food safety in aquaculture

(CT) - On the afternoon of September 26, the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Can Tho City to organize a training conference on quality management and food safety (FSS) in aquaculture.

At the training session, the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance disseminated Circular No. 17/2018/TT-BNNPTNT of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development ; methods of managing food safety conditions for aquaculture facilities not subject to certification; food safety conditions for small-scale production and business establishments; inspection of the implementation of committed contents; handling of establishments violating commitments; general regulations on risk analysis and food safety management along the production and business chain of agricultural, forestry, fishery and salt products; food traceability; food safety risk assessment; principles of food safety management along the production and business chain of agricultural, forestry, fishery and salt products used as food...

The organization of the training conference aims to guide local officials in charge of aquaculture to unify documents, forms, and organize the implementation of certification and commitment to food safety conditions as well as clarify the conditions for ensuring food safety in aquaculture as prescribed in Circular No. 17/2018/TT-BNNPTNT. In addition, it helps aquaculture facilities and households to better understand the general regulations on food safety management in the agricultural sector; the hazards that cause food safety loss in the aquaculture process and the measures that need to be taken to ensure food safety in the aquaculture process.
