A boat caught fire at night at Sa Huynh fishing port.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - The fishing vessel QNg 44072TS, anchored at Sa Huynh fishing port, Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province, suddenly burst into flames during the night.

On December 3rd, the People's Committee of Duc Pho town announced that a fishing boat fire had occurred in the area, causing property damage to fishermen.

At approximately 9 PM on December 2nd, staff at the Sa Huynh fishing port discovered the vessel QNg 44072TS on fire. The flames erupted fiercely in the ship's cabin.

Upon discovering the incident, residents living near the fishing port joined in extinguishing the fire and saving the ship, while also reporting the incident to the authorities.

Upon receiving the report, the Sa Huynh Border Guard Post mobilized officers and soldiers to participate in extinguishing the fire and preventing it from spreading to nearby anchored ships.

Firefighters and local residents moved various fishing tools from the vessel QNg 44072TS in an effort to minimize damage to the ship owner.

After about an hour, the fire was extinguished, but the ship's cabin was severely damaged. There were no casualties. The estimated property damage from the fire is approximately 100 million VND.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.

The fishing vessel QNg 44072TS, 13.5m long and with a 70CV engine, is owned by Mr. Nguyen Van Biet (55 years old, Duc Pho town). On the afternoon of December 2nd, the vessel returned to port to sell its catch, but caught fire that night.
