On the afternoon of February 5th, according to information from the People's Committee of Ky Loi commune (Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh province), a fishing boat belonging to a local fisherman suddenly caught fire while anchored in the area. Initial estimates of property damage are approximately 500-600 million VND.
Accordingly, at approximately 1:20 PM on the same day, the fishing vessel numbered HT 90382 TS, with a power of nearly 400 horsepower, owned by Mr. Mai Hong Trich (residing in Hamlet 4, Dong Yen, Ky Loi Commune), was anchored in the boat mooring area of the Ky Loi resettlement area (located in Ky Phuong Ward, Ky Anh Town) when it caught fire violently.

Upon receiving the report, the authorities, in coordination with the local government, quickly mobilized vehicles and equipment, and worked with the local people to access the scene and extinguish the fire.
A few hours later the fire was brought under control and completely extinguished.
At the scene, the fishing boat was severely damaged by the fire, with the cabin and many wooden tools completely destroyed. There were no people on board the fishing boat at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire is being investigated and clarified.
In early December 2023, a similar incident occurred in Ca Mau , causing a boat owner to lose approximately 100 million VND.
Specifically, at approximately 10:30 AM on December 1, 2023, the Song Doc Border Guard Station (Ca Mau Border Guard Command) received a report from residents about a fishing boat in Hamlet 11, Song Doc town, that was on fire, starting from the cabin, and threatening to spread to other boats anchored nearby.
The Song Doc Border Guard Station quickly deployed 15 officers and soldiers to coordinate with the Song Doc Town Police and other local forces to carry out firefighting measures.
Thanks to the rapid deployment of firefighting forces, the fire was completely extinguished by approximately 11:00 AM. The cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical short circuit on the ship.
