To serve the parade and march to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, many roads in Hanoi have been adjusted, diverted, and restricted. However, the demand for travel to the center of the capital city for people as well as tourists to follow the training activities, preliminary and general rehearsals of the parade and march; and to visit historical sites is very high. In that context, the urban railway system with the Cat Linh-Ha Dong and Nhon-Hanoi railway lines is considered an ideal solution to serve the needs of the people.
On the morning of August 21, Mr. Le Ngoc Toan and his wife (Lang ward, Hanoi) decided to buy a ticket for the Cat Linh-Ha Dong train to move to Cat Linh station, then join the pedestrians on Nguyen Thai Hoc street towards the center to watch and admire the scene of the parade rehearsal and parade at Ba Dinh Square. Mr. Toan shared that the elevated train moves very quickly and is not stuck in traffic so it saves time. Although it is a bit crowded, it is much more convenient than using personal vehicles because you do not have to find a place to park...
According to the Hanoi Metro Company Limited, on August 21 alone, the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line set a record with the highest number of passengers since the line was put into operation. Specifically, the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line served more than 110,000 passengers. The number of passengers transported on August 21 was 250% of the number of passengers transported on normal days and double the number of passengers transported during the peak season on September 2 in previous years.
Thus, if we add 30,000 passengers served on the Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station route, the capital's urban railway sector has reached 518 trains with 140,000 passengers safely transported on August 21. It can be said that these are positive signals, showing the trend of people using public transport by train in recent times.
According to Hanoi Metro, the demand for train travel by residents and tourists is expected to continue to increase sharply during the days of preliminary and general rehearsals for the parade, as well as during the peak days of the upcoming National Day. To best serve the travel needs of passengers, Hanoi Metro has arranged additional staff at stations to guide people on the train, support the elderly and children, and adjust the train schedule on the routes to best serve the people. Particularly on National Day, September 2, the urban railway lines will operate continuously from 0:00 to 22:00. The interval between trips is 6 minutes during peak hours, and 10 minutes during other times.
In addition, from August 30 to September 2, along with subsidized bus routes, Hanoi Metro will offer free boarding tickets to best serve the travel needs of residents and tourists. The unit will continue to implement plans to ensure safe, meaningful, and effective travel; monitor passenger volume, promptly adjust and increase frequency, trips, turns, and operating time to serve residents and tourists in case of increased travel demand.
