Learner Tien defeated his Bosnian opponent 6-2, 6-1, securing his place in the next round of the Masters 1000 clay court tournament in Italy.
The match unfolded in a one-sided manner. The Vietnamese-American player started confidently, controlling the pace of the ball well and quickly putting pressure on Dzumhur's service games. His flexible ball control, sustained movement, and accuracy in finishing shots helped the young Vietnamese-American player quickly establish a lead.

The first set saw Tien play very proactively. He constantly pressured his opponent into a defensive position, making good use of break opportunities to win 6-2. In the second set, the match was even easier for the 19th seed. Dzumhur tried to change the pace but could not turn the situation around against Tien's consistent and fast-paced play.
The 6-1 victory in the second set capped off Learner Tien's clean performance. This is an important result, giving the 2005-born player more confidence for his journey at the Rome Open 2026.
With his current form, Learner Tien is proving that he is not just a young phenomenon, but also a noteworthy figure on the ATP Tour.
