Quy Mong commune has suitable climatic and soil conditions for developing perennial fruit trees. Recognizing this potential, in recent years, the commune has encouraged people to convert unproductive hillside garden land to cultivate red-fleshed dragon fruit. Thanks to its good adaptability, resistance to pests and diseases, ease of care, and high economic value, this crop has quickly gained popularity among the people.

To date, the entire commune has nearly 20 hectares of red-fleshed dragon fruit with about 130 households participating in cultivation. The people actively apply scientific and technological advancements to production, implementing safe and environmentally friendly care processes and ensuring product quality. As a result, Quy Mong's red-fleshed dragon fruit has an attractive appearance, good quality, and is increasingly favored by the market.
In 2021, the commune's red-fleshed dragon fruit was recognized as meeting VietGAP standards and achieving OCOP 3-star rating. This is a significant milestone, contributing to increasing the product's value and expanding its market. Currently, Quy Mong red-fleshed dragon fruit is not only consumed within the province but also in other provinces.

According to Ms. Bui Thi Phuong, Vice President of the Women's Union of Quy Mong commune, the granting of the "Collective Trademark" to the product is an incentive for people to continue cultivating red-fleshed dragon fruit, while also promoting sustainable production linkages.
Ms. Phuong said: “The Women's Union of the commune has coordinated with other organizations to propagate and encourage members to change the crop structure and apply science and technology to production. As a result, many households earn from 70 to over 100 million VND per year from red-fleshed dragon fruit.”
On average, Quy Mong commune supplies the market with about 300 tons of red-fleshed dragon fruit annually, with prices ranging from 20,000 to 40,000 VND/kg depending on the time of year. The economic benefits from this crop have contributed to increasing income, improving living standards, and creating momentum for agricultural economic development in the locality.

The family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Loan in Hong Tien village is one of the pioneering households in growing red-fleshed dragon fruit in Quy Mong commune. With an area of over 600 m², equivalent to 120 dragon fruit trees, her family harvests over 2 tons of fruit each year, yielding a profit of more than 120 million VND.
According to Ms. Loan, red-fleshed dragon fruit is suitable for the local climate conditions; however, for the plants to grow well and yield high productivity, growers need to master proper care, fertilization, and pruning techniques.
"Dragon fruit is easy to grow, but to achieve high yields, proper care is essential. The plants need good ventilation, regular fertilization, and frequent monitoring to ensure fruit quality," Ms. Loan shared.
Having also been involved with red-fleshed dragon fruit cultivation for nearly 8 years, Mrs. Pham Thi Khanh's family has 70 trees, yielding an average of about 1 ton of fruit per year.
According to Ms. Khanh, to achieve high-yield harvests, growers must pay attention to every step, from soil preparation and seed selection to constructing support structures and caring for the plants.

Based on the practical effectiveness of production models, many households in the commune have boldly expanded the area for growing red-fleshed dragon fruit, applying technical advancements to production. Learning from models inside and outside the province has also helped people improve their farming skills, gradually building concentrated production areas.
In 2025, Quy Mong red-fleshed dragon fruit will be granted the right to use a "Collective Trademark". This is considered a significant turning point in the process of building a brand for local agricultural products.
Trademark protection not only affirms the quality and reputation of a product but also facilitates its promotion and sales in the market.

"Collective trademarks" help enhance the competitiveness of products, create opportunities to access supermarket chains and safe agricultural product stores, and aim for market expansion in the future. At the same time, this also motivates people to continue investing and developing production in a professional and sustainable manner.
It can be affirmed that red-fleshed dragon fruit is becoming a key crop, making a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of Quy Mong commune. Not only does it provide a stable source of income, but it also creates jobs, improves people's lives, and promotes the process of building new rural areas.

In the coming period, Quy Mong commune will continue to promote and encourage people to expand the planting area according to the plan; accelerate the application of science, technology and new technologies in production, preservation, and post-harvest processing; and strengthen brand promotion and product consumption connections.
With the support of the local government and the dynamic and creative spirit of the people, red-fleshed dragon fruit is opening up prospects for sustainable development in the Quy Mong region, contributing to increasing the value of agricultural products and building a modern and efficient agricultural sector.
