Young soldiers are at the forefront of building and defending the Fatherland.

Imbued with President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, "youth are the future masters of the nation," over the years, the youth of the Army have always been the vanguard force in protecting the independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Fatherland. Through this, they have contributed to enhancing and spreading the noble qualities and image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new era.

Spreading the revolutionary action movement

As a large force within the Army, and also an elite segment of Vietnamese youth, the Army's youth have successfully implemented the movement "Army youth cultivate virtue, hone skills, be proactive, creative, and worthy of being called Ho Chi Minh's soldiers in the new era".
The youth force of the Army throughout the country is always ready to undertake tasks in border areas, islands, and remote regions; leading the way in preventing, combating, and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and epidemics, in search and rescue operations, and readily present in critical and dangerous areas to protect the lives and property of the people.

Throughout the military, the youth of the Army consistently take the lead in effectively carrying out training, education, and combat readiness tasks. Party committees, party organizations, leading cadres, and all levels of the Youth Union focus on educating and training cadres and youth union members, building a model of young people in the Army with noble aspirations and high responsibility; excelling in learning and action; demonstrating strong unity and strict discipline; and being ready to accept and successfully complete all assigned tasks.

Along with that, the youth of the entire army have seriously studied, understood, and implemented the Party's military and national defense viewpoints and guidelines, the resolutions and directives of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense , and the training orders and combat readiness plans of agencies and units; upholding the spirit of revolutionary vigilance, with the determination to "Overcome the sun and rain, enthusiastically practice," and "Excellent training - high combat readiness," clearly demonstrating a sense of responsibility, overcoming difficulties, enthusiastically studying and training, improving their overall capabilities; demonstrating physical endurance and resilience, quick thinking and decisiveness in handling situations, accuracy in action, and forging the enduring qualities and psychology of a soldier.

Regardless of the conditions or circumstances, the youth of the Army always remain absolutely loyal to the Party and the revolutionary cause; they uphold the will to fight and win, making important contributions to the building of the Army, the building and protection of the Fatherland, and are worthy of the trust and love of the Party, the State, the Army, and the people.

It is from the movement "Young Army Soldiers cultivate virtue, hone skills, be proactive, creative, and worthy of being called Ho Chi Minh's soldiers in the new era" that hundreds of effective operational models have emerged in training, combat readiness, and work of young Army soldiers.

Notable examples include: "The 'Three Best, Three No' Aircraft Crew," "The 9th Hour of Martial Arts," "The Model Youth Vehicle Crew," "The Model Submarine Crew," "Our Sunday," "A Story on Ideology, Culture, and Discipline Every Week," "A Good News Story Every Day, a Beautiful Story Every Week," "Youth-led Border Movement," "I Love My Homeland," "Student Dance Groups and Bands," "Borderland Lessons," "Youth Island," "Youth Shock Teams," "Model Classrooms," "Smoke-Free Lecture Halls," "Youth Aircraft Cabins," "Well-Trained, Highly Combat-Ready Militia Soldiers,"... These models have directly contributed to the successful completion of tasks and enhanced the combat readiness of the entire army.

Speaking at the 11th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Vietnam People's Army, for the term 2025-2030, recently held in Hanoi, General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, and Head of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, affirmed: “Under any conditions or circumstances, the youth of the Army will always be absolutely loyal to the Party and the revolutionary cause; upholding the will to fight and win, making important contributions to the building of the Army, building and defending the Fatherland, worthy of the trust and love of the Party, the State, the Army, and the people.”

Pioneering in scientific research and digital transformation.

In response to the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Party committees, Party organizations, leading cadres, and all levels of the Youth Union throughout the military have placed special emphasis on arousing and developing the creative capabilities of young people in the Army.

Youth Union organizations at all levels throughout the military have successfully implemented the "Every young person a creative idea" campaign; 100% of Youth Union organizations have guided and organized cadres and youth union members to participate in the "Popular Digital Education" and "AI普及" movements, thereby motivating and encouraging scientific research activities of young people in the Army, making an important contribution to the cause of building and protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

A large number of young military personnel actively research and improve training models and simulations, enhancing their skills and practical abilities, mastering weapons and equipment, and practicing combat plans proficiently. The "Young Innovators" movement among young military personnel and the Youth Innovation Award in the Army have been implemented comprehensively and synchronously, developing increasingly strongly and spreading widely.

During the period 2022-2025, more than 2,200 scientific research projects by young military personnel participated in the all-army competition. The Prime Minister awarded Certificates of Merit to 6 collectives, the Minister of National Defense awarded Certificates of Merit to 93 collectives for outstanding achievements in participating in the Award, the Head of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army certified more than 1,100 winning projects, and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union awarded the Creative Youth Badge to 28 projects that won first prize.

The proactive and creative role of military officers and youth union members has also been strongly promoted through activities applying digital technology and digital communication; effective models such as: "Three proactive approaches in cyberspace," "Zalo groups accompanying soldiers," etc. With a pioneering spirit in scientific research and digital transformation, military youth have directly contributed to the successful completion of military and national defense tasks of agencies, units, and localities, maintaining political security and social order in their respective areas. This result demonstrates the creativity, enthusiasm, and aspiration to conquer the heights of science of military youth.

Reaching out to the people through practical actions.

Upholding the tradition of solidarity between the military and the people, the youth of the Army have coordinated in disseminating information to millions of people about the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations; they have also coordinated in caring for children and teenagers, receiving high praise from local authorities.

During the period 2022-2025, the youth of the Army coordinated the donation of more than 300 "100 Dong Houses", more than 306,000 gifts, medical examinations, health consultations, and free medicine to more than 192,000 policy beneficiaries.

From the beginning of December 2025 until now, following the directives of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Minister of National Defense, the youth of the Army, especially those units in the South Central and Central Highlands provinces, have been urgently and effectively implementing the "Quang Trung Campaign" with the goal of quickly repairing and rebuilding houses for people affected by floods. The youth of forces such as the Navy, the Coast Guard Command, Military Region 4, etc., have upheld the spirit of "serving the people," striving to accelerate the repair and construction of houses for local residents. Despite the arduous construction work and the harsh weather conditions in the South Central and Central Highlands regions, these young soldiers have always strived and competed, determined to complete the "Quang Trung Campaign," ensuring quality and exceeding the set schedule.

It is evident that, through concrete activities and practical content, the youth of the Army have truly been a vanguard force in building and defending the Fatherland. Not only have they contributed to improving overall quality and enhancing the combat readiness of agencies and units throughout the army, but the Army's youth have also directly strengthened the close-knit relationship between the military and the people; at the same time, they have enhanced and spread the noble qualities and image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new era.
