On the morning of December 17th, at the Nguyen Du historical site in Tien Dien commune, Ha Tinh province, the Ha Tinh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the opening of the thematic exhibition "Great Poet Nguyen Du - Remembered for a Thousand Years". This activity is part of a series of events leading up to the 260th anniversary of the birth of the great poet Nguyen Du - a world cultural figure, and also to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province Nguyen Thi Nguyet; Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province Nguyen Viet Truong, along with representatives from various departments and agencies; the Nguyen family in Tien Dien; and a large number of students, tourists, and local people.
In his opening remarks, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh Province, Nguyen Viet Truong, affirmed that the thematic exhibition is a cultural activity with practical significance in the work of preserving, honoring, and promoting the value of Nguyen Du's heritage.

The great poet Nguyen Du, born in 1765, was an outstanding son of Tien Dien, Ha Tinh province. He was not only an exceptional representative of Vietnamese medieval literature but also a cultural figure with profound influence on an international level. His vast literary legacy, especially *Truyen Kieu* (The Tale of Kieu), is considered a profound embodiment of humanist thought, the aspiration for justice and righteousness, aesthetic values, and the cultural character of Vietnam.
In the course of the nation's literary and artistic history, Nguyen Du is regarded as a timeless pinnacle. His creative career reached a mature stage in thought and artistry, with *Truyen Kieu* being a masterpiece of global value, possessing enduring vitality and a powerful ability to spread throughout the spiritual life of humanity.

For over two centuries, The Tale of Kieu has been continuously studied, interpreted, and creatively adapted in various forms of Vietnamese culture and art, such as folk songs (Vi and Giam), Ca Tru singing, Cheo Kieu opera, Tieu plays, fine arts, theater, film, digital media, as well as in the folk culture and daily life of the Vietnamese people. This uninterrupted continuity is vivid evidence of Nguyen Du's immense stature and the enduring value of The Tale of Kieu, while also affirming the inherent strength and lasting identity of Vietnamese culture.
The legacy of Nguyen Du thus becomes a source of pride and an invaluable spiritual asset of the nation, making a significant contribution to affirming the position of Vietnamese culture in international exchange and integration, especially in the context of current globalization.

According to the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh province, Nguyen Du's legacy will only truly endure when it is cherished, inherited, and creatively adapted in contemporary life, when each citizen becomes a cultural subject, a "messenger" spreading the humanistic, compassionate, and loyal spirit that the great poet conveyed through his works. This is also an important foundation for building a well-rounded, distinctive Ha Tinh people, meeting the requirements of sustainable development in the new era.
“Through this exhibition, we hope to further spread the immense values of heritage in social life, thereby arousing pride, a sense of responsibility, and the joint efforts of the entire political system, the business community, intellectuals, artists, and especially every citizen of Ha Tinh in the preservation, protection, and promotion of the traditional cultural values of our homeland,” Mr. Nguyen Viet Truong emphasized.

The thematic exhibition "Great Poet Nguyen Du - Remembered for a Thousand Years" presents more than 250 valuable documents, artifacts, and images, systematically and vividly reflecting the life, career, and literary legacy of Nguyen Du; it also showcases the typical tangible and intangible cultural heritage values of Ha Tinh province.
This is the result of a 60-year process of persistent collection, research, and preservation, closely linked to the 60-year journey of the Nguyen Du Memorial Area's formation and development from 1965 to 2025. The exhibition space is scientifically organized, facilitating public visits, research, and learning, thereby contributing to raising social awareness, especially among the younger generation, about the enduring value of Nguyen Du's heritage in contemporary cultural life.

The exhibition space is arranged in two areas, indoor and outdoor. The focus is on the indoor exhibition, which introduces the formation process of the Nguyen Du Monument and the restoration and construction of the Great Poet's Memorial Area through various stages since the 1960s. In the outdoor area, within the monument grounds, the organizers present 32 paintings of characters from the Tale of Kieu, created by renowned artists.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the exhibition attracted a large number of locals and tourists, demonstrating the enduring appeal of Nguyen Du's legacy in contemporary cultural life.
