Commenting on some pitted concrete light pole bases, this expert said that this is a sign of carelessness in construction.

“The picture shows only stone aggregate, without any cement water. Thus, all concrete structures like that do not ensure quality. This affects the quality of concrete, not just aesthetically. In these cases, it is necessary to demolish and rebuild, not just patch it with mortar and that's it," said this expert.

To ensure the quality of the project, this expert proposed that the State management agency for construction quality in Hanoi need to inspect the above phenomenon.

At the project site, reporters from Traffic Newspaper noted that some manholes were cracked and their necks were chipped. There are manholes that are chiselled or cut to fit drainage pipes, or to install cable systems.

Many concrete manhole necks were pitted so they were roughly patched with mortar. There is a manhole several meters deep, but there is only a rough warning with a few dry sticks.

Some light column bases also show signs of pitting and uneven concrete. Along with that, some parts of the project's concrete pavement line also showed signs of poor connection.

The mortar connecting the tiles and concrete of the sidewalk is also very thin. The process of constructing the concrete sidewalk was done poorly by workers. Some places had lost edges and were not square.

Explaining this incident, the Construction Investment Project Management Board of Nam Tu Liem district said that the above problems are "only not good in terms of aesthetics" but the quality is absolutely guaranteed.
