In Decree No. 62/2024/ND-CP, the Government changed the schedule for disseminating some important statistical information from the Central Statistics Agency.

On June 7, 2024, the Government issued Decree No. 62/2024/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles and appendices of Decree No. 94/2016/ND-CP dated July 1, 2016 of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Statistics and Decree No. 94/2022/ND-CP dated November 7, 2022 of the Government stipulating the content of statistical indicators belonging to the national statistical indicator system and the process of compiling indicators of gross domestic product and gross domestic product in provinces and centrally-administered cities.
Mr. Bui Van Dong, Director of the Ninh Binh Statistics Department, stated: "This is an important legal document that overcomes the limitations and shortcomings of the current work of collecting, compiling, publishing, and disseminating statistical information; it helps to provide accurate, timely, and complete statistical information to serve Party and Government agencies, the Prime Minister, and authorities at all levels in management and administration."
Accordingly, the Government has stipulated changes to the schedule for disseminating certain important statistical information from the Central Statistics Agency as follows:
For official consumer price index (CPI) figures, data is typically released on the 6th of the month following the reporting month (the current regulation is the 29th of each month, except for February, which is the last day of the month).
Estimated figures for the proportion of trained workers holding common degrees or certificates are available as of the 6th of the month following the reporting quarter.
Preliminary data on the proportion of trained workers with common degrees or certificates is available as of the 6th day of the first month of the second quarter following the reporting quarter.
Estimated unemployment rates are typically released on the 6th of the month following the reporting quarter.
Preliminary unemployment rate figures are typically released on the 6th day of the first month of the second quarter following the reporting quarter.
Monthly, quarterly (Q1, Q2, and six-month), quarterly (Q3 and nine-month), quarterly (Q4), and annual socio -economic reports are typically published on the 6th of the month following the reporting period.
Regarding the changes to the timing of GDP and GRDP data releases, according to Decree 62/2024/ND-CP, GDP data is released as follows:
Estimated figures for Q1; preliminary figures for Q4 of the year preceding the reporting year: April 6th of the reporting year; estimated figures for Q2, 6 months and first-round estimates for the whole year; preliminary figures for Q1: July 6th of the reporting year; Estimated figures for Q3 and 9 months; preliminary figures for Q2 and 6 months: October 6th of the reporting year; estimated figures for Q4 and second-round estimates for the whole year; preliminary figures for Q3 and 9 months: January 6th of the year following the reporting year; preliminary figures for the whole year: October 6th of the year following the reporting year; official figures for the whole year and by quarter of the reporting year: October 6th of the second year following the reporting year.
The GRDP data release schedule has been changed as follows: Estimated figures for Q1; preliminary figures for Q4 of the year preceding the reporting year: April 1st of the reporting year; estimated figures for Q2, 6 months and first-round estimates for the whole year; preliminary figures for Q1: July 1st of the reporting year; estimated figures for Q3 and 9 months; preliminary figures for Q2 and 6 months: October 1st of the reporting year; estimated figures for Q4 and second-round estimates for the whole year; preliminary figures for Q3 and 9 months: December 1st of the reporting year; preliminary figures for the whole year: October 1st of the year following the reporting year; official figures for the whole year and by quarter of the reporting year: October 1st of the second year following the reporting year.
The Decree officially takes effect from August 1, 2024. Accordingly, the Ninh Binh Statistics Department also adjusted the time for publishing statistical information. The revised 2024 Statistical Information Dissemination Schedule is posted on the Department's website at https://thongkeninhbinh.gov.vn .
