In the 2024-2025 school year, Bac Ninh province will have a total of 506 schools and over 383,000 students at all levels; an increase of 5,000 students compared to the 2023-2024 school year. This is a special school year as 100% of students from grades 1 to 12 will be studying under the 2018 General Education Program.

At Nguyen Dang Dao Junior High School (Bac Ninh City), teachers and students were delighted when Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, attended the opening ceremony and rang the school bell to officially open the school year.

With nearly 30 years of construction and development, Nguyen Dang Dao Junior High School is one of the eight key schools in the province. With the vibrant sound of drums marking the start of the 2024-2025 school year, Le Van Thinh High School in Gia Binh district has 43 classes with nearly 2,000 students. Under the theme "Discipline, Responsibility, Continuous Innovation, and Quality Improvement," the school has identified four key tasks. Most notably, it will continue to implement the Resolution of the 20th Congress of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee and Conclusion No. 117 of the Provincial Party Committee, carrying out fundamental and comprehensive reforms in education and training in Bac Ninh province for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030.

Attending and sharing in the opening ceremony with teachers and students at Han Thuyen High School, Comrade Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, visited the school's campus and facilities.

Given the forecast that the school's student population will increase 1.5 times by 2030 compared to the present, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Construction to coordinate with relevant departments and the school to conduct a comprehensive study of the site plan for the expansion project of Han Thuyen High School. The study should focus on maximizing space utilization, emphasizing green and friendly spaces, ensuring both professional activities and the integration of features that support the physical training and development of young people.

Consistent with the view that "Education and training are the top national priority," over the years, Bac Ninh province has issued many mechanisms and policies to develop education and training.

Thanks to the close and comprehensive attention of the province, the efforts and determination of the entire education sector with decisive and appropriate solutions tailored to local realities, Bac Ninh's education continues to be a bright spot in the region and nationwide, an impressive highlight in the overall picture of the province's socio -economic development.

At the end of the 2023-2024 school year, Bac Ninh province ranked second nationwide in the percentage of students winning awards in the National Excellent Student Selection Examination; the province had 3 students participating in regional and international Olympic competitions, and all three won awards: 1 Gold Medal and 2 Bronze Medals.

In the 2024 High School Graduation Exam, Bac Ninh ranked 5th in average scores across all subjects; 7 out of 9 subjects ranked in the top 10 nationwide in average scores, and for the third consecutive year, Bac Ninh had a national valedictorian.

Notably, in the 2023-2024 school year, Bac Ninh's education and training sector received nearly 820 billion VND in investment for the construction, repair, and upgrading of school facilities. Many projects were upgraded to meet the needs of the new school year. At the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, Thuan Thanh town put into use Phuong Ho No. 1 Primary School with a total investment of over 80 billion VND and Vu Kiet Secondary School with a total investment of over 187 billion VND. In Gia Binh district, 11 school buildings were renovated to ensure safety before the start of the new school year with a total cost of over 7 billion VND…

With the joint efforts of local departments and agencies, the percentage of public schools meeting national standards at all levels in the province is currently 99.6%. This is also an important foundation for Bac Ninh's education sector to create momentum in implementing the "Green, Clean, Beautiful, and Safe" school building movement at all levels, building a civilized and happy school environment - a highlight of this school year.

Alongside its advantages, Bac Ninh's education and training sector is also facing numerous difficulties and challenges. Based on effectively utilizing its potential and advantages, and recognizing the challenges to provide timely guidance and solutions, Bac Ninh's education sector has set forth six directions and nine key tasks, with the determination to maintain the achievements already made and strive to successfully complete the tasks for the 2024-2025 school year. This aims to meet the requirements of fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training, develop high-quality human resources, and cultivate talent for the province and the country during the period of industrialization, modernization, and international integration.
