The sports and physical education movement is spreading widely, becoming an integral part of modern office life. Being healthy allows for better service to the people and strengthens community bonds. In particular, the sports and physical education movement has also discovered many outstanding athletes who have brought achievements to their localities.
A win-win solution
In Xuan Lap ward, Ms. Nguyen Hong Phuong, Secretary of the Phu My neighborhood Youth Union, has maintained a regular exercise routine for many years. Having previously practiced Vovinam, she later switched to gym workouts and running due to work requirements.
Ms. Phuong said: "Every day after work, I spend about an hour exercising (45 minutes in the gym and the last 15 minutes jogging regularly). The time isn't long, but it's enough to make a noticeable difference. Recently, I won third place in the cross-country race at the 1st Xuan Lap Ward Sports Festival in 2026. This achievement isn't the most important thing. The most valuable thing is that after exercising, I feel very relaxed. My workday is therefore more efficient, easier, and more focused," Ms. Phuong shared.
At 55 years old, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tan, Party Secretary and Head of Nui Do neighborhood (Xuan Lap ward), still regularly goes to the sports field every day. He loves football and badminton, considering sports an indispensable habit. For him, exercise is a way to maintain his health so he can continue to be involved in community work.
Not only did Mr. Tan directly participate, but he also "ignited" the sports movement by serving as the Chairman of the Nui Do neighborhood football club. Thanks to his consistent efforts, his team won the championship at the first Xuan Lap Ward Sports Festival recently.
Sharing about the sports and physical training movement in the locality, Vice Chairman of Xuan Lap Ward People's Committee Hoang Long Ha said: In recent years, along with the task of developing socio -economic aspects and ensuring national defense and security, the Party Committee, government, and people of Xuan Lap Ward have always paid attention to leading, directing, and effectively organizing sports and physical training activities. The sports and physical training movement not only contributes to improving health but also strengthens solidarity, builds cultural life in residential areas, and makes a practical contribution to the implementation of the local development tasks.
In Bu Gia Map commune, the sports and physical training movement among officials, civil servants, and employees is considered an integral part of the workplace culture. Volleyball, football, badminton, pickleball, and jogging are regularly maintained, attracting many participants.
According to Tran Quang Binh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bu Gia Map commune, the unique characteristics of the large border area, the heavy workload, and the frequent visits to the grassroots level by officials, along with their close ties to the people and the local area, mean that health directly impacts work efficiency. Regular exercise sessions help them maintain stamina, mental clarity, and the ability to adapt to the high intensity of work. Currently, over 85% of officials, civil servants, and workers in the locality maintain a habit of exercising. This figure shows that sports are no longer just a superficial activity but have become an integral part of daily life.
"Maintaining and developing the sports and physical training movement among officials, civil servants, and public employees is considered a 'soft solution' that brings practical results in building a positive and professional working environment; at the same time, it helps to foster closer and more friendly relationships among officials, civil servants, and public employees, and helps to coordinate and resolve work more quickly and efficiently," Mr. Binh shared.
In Phu Nghia commune, the sports and physical training movement, linked to the nationwide campaign for physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh, is thriving. Besides familiar sports like badminton, football, and volleyball, the locality also maintains taekwondo classes for young people. Beyond improving health, sports and physical training have become a "glue" connecting the community. Friendly tournaments during holidays and weekends, or inter-agency sports events, have provided opportunities for officials from different units to exchange and share work experiences in a more open atmosphere compared to daily administrative meetings.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Director of the Phu Nghia Commune General Service Center, said: “When health and morale improve, work efficiency has seen many positive changes. The staff, civil servants, and public employees work more dynamically, with a higher sense of responsibility, contributing to improving the quality of task performance in the locality.”

From a mass movement to a local achievement.
In Trang Dai ward, a densely populated area, the sports and physical education movement is particularly vibrant. Numerous amateur tournaments are regularly organized, attracting participants from officials and youth union members to association members and residents. In the context of rapid urbanization, sports have become a common space for people to meet, connect, and build a healthy cultural life.
Furthermore, many localities such as Tri An, Phu Vinh, Phu Hoa, Dinh Quan, Tam Hiep, Tran Bien, etc., have actively launched sports and physical training movements among cadres, civil servants, and workers. The number of people participating in sports and physical training is increasing; sports clubs operate effectively; facilities are gradually being invested in; and many competitions are organized regularly, creating a healthy and beneficial playground for the people.
In reality, developing the sports and physical training movement is a "soft solution" that yields practical results. When health improves, morale increases, and attitudes towards serving the public also change. A more welcoming and professional approach to citizens, proactive handling of administrative procedures, and a higher sense of responsibility... all stem from a foundation of healthy individuals, both physically and mentally.
It is noteworthy that the sports and physical training movement among cadres, civil servants, and public employees does not stop at individual training. From these grassroots activities, many localities have discovered and selected outstanding athletes to participate in higher-level competitions, contributing to bringing overall achievements to the locality.
In the coming period, communes and wards will continue to direct efforts to improve the quality of sports and physical education activities in their areas, bringing the movement to a deeper level and ensuring sustainable development. Many localities plan to make participation in sports and physical education movements a supplementary criterion in emulation evaluations to encourage young officials to train more regularly. Simultaneously, they will expand forms of inter-unit exchanges and sports competitions, and socialize resources to invest in sports fields and facilities.
The sports and physical training movement has gone beyond the meaning of mere physical exercise. It is an environment for forming a healthy lifestyle, a spiritual bridge within the organization, and also a foundation for building the image of a public servant who is close to the people, dynamic, responsible, and effective in their work.
The first Dong Nai City Sports Festival in 2026 recorded many outstanding achievements from various localities. For example, the Trang Dai ward futsal team won the championship, Phu Rieng commune led in chess, An Phuoc commune led in petanque, Tam Hiep ward led in bodybuilding; Tran Bien ward won the most gold medals in chess and table tennis… These results show that the grassroots sports movement has become an important resource for high-performance sports in Dong Nai.
