One more victim died in the passenger bus overturned in Tam Dao

The deceased was identified as Mai Van Tuan (born in 1978), residing in Thanh Mien district, Hai Duong province.

Thus, up to now, 4 people have died in the serious traffic accident that occurred on the same morning, at Km19 National Highway 2B, in Ho Son Commune (Tam Dao). The identities of the 3 previous deaths include Ms. Phan Hai Tu (born in 1984), Ngo Vu Minh Nhat (born in 2022), and Mai Phuong Thao (born in 2016), all from Thanh Mien District (Hai Duong); 14 injured people were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Vinh Phuc Provincial Police conducted an investigation at the scene.

As reported by CAND Newspaper, at around 9:15 a.m. on the same day, a 29-seat passenger car, license plate number 29F-059.95 (with registration valid until August 19, 2025) driven by Nguyen Van Tu (born in 1984), residing in Tan Phong commune, Ninh Giang district, Hai Duong province (with a class D driver's license, issued by the Department of Transport of Bac Ninh province) was traveling from Tam Dao town, Tam Dao district when the brakes failed and the car overturned on the side of the road at Km19 of National Highway 2B, in the area of ​​Ho Son commune (Tam Dao). There were 17 people on the passenger car (including the driver).

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue recounted the accident.

Being treated at the hospital after the bus accident, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue, a resident of Thanh Mien, is still in shock. She was injured in her left arm and had to undergo surgery to repair the tendon. According to Ms. Hue, she and her daughter, along with other employees of the company, were returning to Hanoi from Tam Dao when the accident happened. The people on the bus were all from the same company in Thanh Mien district, Hai Duong. The convoy departed from Thanh Mien at 1:30 p.m. on April 25 and started from Tam Dao at 9 a.m. on April 26.

As one of the lucky ones who suffered minor injuries, Ms. Vu Thi Tho recounted that while going downhill, when the bus entered a curve, the driver stepped on the brakes and the bus made a creaking sound. The first two creaks only tilted the bus, but on the third creak, the bus flipped over and rolled three times. Luckily, the bus hit the guardrail, otherwise we would have fallen into the abyss.

Currently, the cause of this serious traffic accident is being investigated and clarified by the functional units of Vinh Phuc Provincial Police.
