Many special activities during the full moon season
According to the representative of the Department of Tourism, the goal of the program is to organize unique traditional cultural and tourism activities, contributing to enriching the spiritual life of the people and creating new experiences for tourists when coming to Hue during the Mid-Autumn Festival. In particular, the activities of hanging lanterns, decorating the landscape, encouraging and attracting people, and the association to organize traditional activities such as cuisine , traditional crafts, etc. on Chi Lang - Bach Dang street.
The highlight of the series of events is the colorful lantern hanging activity in the ancient town of Chi Lang - Gia Hoi, combined with the Lion - Lion - Dragon performance and the Mid-Autumn Festival street lantern procession. The program is scheduled to take place from 4pm to 7pm on October 4 (ie August 13th of the lunar calendar).
According to the plan, there will be 11 performance groups including lion dance team, children's dance group, contemporary dance group, community artist group, cheerleaders and Grab cyclo group. After the opening ceremony at Nghinh Luong Dinh, the performance group will go through Tran Hung Dao - Gia Hoi bridge - Trinh Cong Son park. The group will also stop at the intersection of Tran Hung Dao - Huynh Thuc Khang - Phan Dang Luu to perform, promising to create exciting and colorful moments.

In addition to the performance, the Department of Tourism also coordinated with other units to organize a lion dance exchange festival for lion dance teams in the city. The program took place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on October 3 at Trinh Cong Son Park. Before that, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the same day, at this location, there will be a community workshop introducing Hue lanterns and the experience of making Mid-Autumn lanterns - an activity expected to attract a large number of young people and tourists to participate.
Not only that, on October 3 and 4, in the ancient town of Chi Lang - Gia Hoi, many activities to experience Hue cuisine at night will also be held, adding a rich flavor to the ancient capital's full moon season. It is expected that if the weather is favorable, this series of special activities will bring impressive highlights.
Cultural experiences in the heart of the ancient capital
Director of the Department of Tourism Tran Thi Hoai Tram said that in 2025, Hue will be honored to host the National Tourism Year with more than 160 large and small events. In particular, the programs responding to the Autumn Festival are of great significance, both creating a vibrant atmosphere and introducing the beauty of Hue culture to a large number of tourists.
In previous years, Hue has organized Lion - Lion - Dragon performances, Mid-Autumn lantern processions or Hue Lion Festival. This year, with careful preparation and expanded scale, the festival promises to bring richer experiences. Through the program, people and tourists will feel the meaningful message: "Mid-Autumn is not only a children's festival, but also an occasion for everyone to reunite and share love in the community".
At the same time, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center will organize a space to display and install lanterns on the nights of October 6 and October 7, 2025 (August 15-16 of the lunar calendar) at the Interior Affairs Palace, Hue Imperial City. Here, typical Hue lanterns will be displayed: Bao La woven bamboo and rattan lanterns, CAN Studio folding lanterns, traditional lanterns of Gifu province artisans (Japan). At the same time, royal court games such as: Dau Ho, Bai Vu, Xam Huong, and calligraphy will be organized to create an experiential space for people and tourists. In addition, there will be a Royal Full Moon Night program on the stage behind the Interior Affairs Palace, Hue Imperial City. The activities in the program do not charge entrance fees. The combination of the shimmering lights of festival lanterns inside the Hue Imperial City, the bustling sound of lion drums and colorful processions, Hue Autumn 2025 will bring visitors a jubilant festive atmosphere, where everyone can join in the common joy.
To make the event a success, the People's Committee of Phu Xuan Ward coordinated with the Department of Tourism to launch a movement to make lantern models at secondary schools in the area, and mobilized about 300 students wearing traditional ao dai to participate in the Mid-Autumn Festival lantern procession. People were also encouraged to decorate their houses, hang lanterns in front of their porches, creating a bright space, connecting with the festival atmosphere. Night culinary activities in the ancient town of Chi Lang - Gia Hoi were organized in parallel, contributing to the gradual formation of a night street, a walking street associated with the cultural and tourist space of Hue in the future.
According to the representative of the Department of Tourism, in addition to the coordination between units and localities to organize the program, the Department of Tourism also coordinates with businesses to introduce and inform tourists. At the same time, highlight activities of this year's Mid-Autumn Festival are added to tourism products to create a stimulus effect.
