On the morning of October 1, General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates attended the National Innovation Day 2025, which took place at the National Innovation Center (Hoa Lac, Hanoi ).
Also attending the event were leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology, leaders of the Ministry of Finance , leaders of Hanoi City and delegates from ministries, departments, branches, institutes, schools, foreign technology corporations...
This event affirms the determination of the Party and State in promoting science , technology, innovation and digital transformation, considering this a key driving force for rapid, sustainable development and enhancing national competitiveness.
General Secretary To Lam delivered a speech at the ceremony.
The General Secretary emphasized that the world is moving at an unprecedented speed, with AI, biotechnology, big data, etc. Countries that are ahead in innovation, science and technology, and digital transformation will go further and further.
"Innovation is not a destination but a process of continuous improvement without end. The origin of that spirit is daring to think extraordinary things, daring to do the most difficult things, daring to take responsibility...", the General Secretary emphasized.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung said:
"The National Innovation Festival 2025 has chosen the theme "Innovation for all people - Driving force for national development". Through the theme of this year's Festival, we not only recognize the role of all levels, sectors and the entire population in promoting innovation development but also continue to affirm that innovation is the driving force for "breakthrough" and sustainable development of Vietnam".
The Deputy Prime Minister informed that in 2025, Vietnam will maintain its position as 44th out of 139 economies in the Global Innovation Index (GII), ranking 2nd in the lower middle-income group and 3rd in ASEAN. Notably, the innovation input index increased by 3 places, this is also the second consecutive year that Vietnam leads the world in the "export of creative goods" index.
Mr. Sandeep Bharathi, Chairman of Marvell Group, delivered a speech in his role as Global Innovator.
Mr. Hung Tran - Founder of Got-It, STEAM for Vietnam shared about the trend of innovation in the new era, especially emphasizing AI. In addition, representatives of non-professional inventors, representatives of examples of overcoming difficulties in innovation also shared at the ceremony.
Previously, the General Secretary, Prime Minister and delegation visited the Vietnam Innovation International Exhibition 2025.
The exhibition brings together hundreds of technology businesses, research institutes, and startups from home and abroad (USA, Germany, France, Japan).
The exhibition displayed and introduced many new products and technologies in 11 key industries and fields according to Decision No. 1131/QD-TTg dated June 12 of the Prime Minister.
This is not only an occasion to honor products and achievements of Innovation, but also an opportunity to exchange and connect elements in the innovation ecosystem.
