Sharing about his 7th work about President Ho Chi Minh , writer Trinh Quang Phu said: “If it is a memoir, it must be written honestly and close to reality. But a memoir can soften historical materials, numbers... When writing Following His Footsteps , I thought that in order for the places Uncle Ho passed through to come back to life, there needs to be literature. Therefore, I borrowed the story genre to retell the story of Uncle Ho's journey to find a way to save the country. I went to France, England, America, Russia, China..., read nearly 200 books about Uncle Ho, built a document outline with the main materials being relics, numbers and historical events...”.

At the program, Colonel Nguyen Manh Cuong, Director of the Southern branch of the People's Army Publishing House, said that although it has only been published for more than a year, Following His Footprints has printed 13,000 copies with 8 reprints. More specifically, in the upcoming 9th reprint, there will be 1,000 copies in English. In the future, the work is planned to be translated into Russian, French and Chinese. This is a valuable work in propagating to generations of Vietnamese people about the dedication and sacrifice of President Ho Chi Minh on the path to national liberation and national reunification.
Colonel - writer Tran The Tuyen, former Editor-in-Chief of Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper commented: "I think writer Trinh Quang Phu is one of the Vietnamese writers who writes about Uncle Ho the most and most successfully. Writer Trinh Quang Phu's works have both literary soul and journalistic character with specific events, places and people."

The value of In His Footsteps is not only reflected in the massive and attractive amount of information, but also in the perseverance, persistence and determination of writer Trinh Quang Phu. The writer's journey is also a valuable lesson for young people in the current context, preserving and pursuing goals for decades requires a high level of discipline and determination.
