The program is part of the first "Ho Chi Minh City Literature and Arts Days," taking place from October 18 to 21 at the Youth Cultural Center and other locations in Binh Duong ward, Ba Ria ward, Vung Tau ward, and Con Dao special zone.
Attending the program were Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, along with guests: Writer Bui Anh Tan, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Arts and Literature Associations, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association; writer Trinh Bich Ngan, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association; journalist Ly Viet Trung, Editor-in-Chief of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper; and Colonel, writer Tran The Tuyen, former Editor-in-Chief of the Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper.
With nearly 600 pages, "Following in the Footsteps of the Great Leader" (People's Army Publishing House) is the result of 28 years of research, experience, and compilation of materials by Professor-Doctor, writer Trinh Quang Phu about President Ho Chi Minh's three-decade journey abroad.

Sharing his thoughts on his seventh work about President Ho Chi Minh , writer Trinh Quang Phu said: “Since it's a memoir, it must be written truthfully and realistically. But memoirs can soften historical materials and figures... When writing ' Following in the Footsteps of the Leader ,' I thought that for the places Uncle Ho visited to come alive, literature was needed. Therefore, I borrowed the genre of fiction to recount the story of Uncle Ho's journey to find a way to save the country. I traveled to France, England, America, Russia, China..., read nearly 200 books about Uncle Ho, and built an outline of materials with the main elements being relics, figures, and historical events...”.

At the program, Colonel Nguyen Manh Cuong, Director of the Southern branch of the People's Army Publishing House, stated that although it was only published a little over a year ago, "Following in the Footsteps of the Leader" has already printed 13,000 copies with 8 reprints. Even more remarkably, the upcoming 9th reprint will include 1,000 copies in English. In the future, the work is planned to be translated into Russian, French, and Chinese. This work is valuable in educating future generations of Vietnamese people about the dedication and sacrifice of President Ho Chi Minh on the path to national liberation and reunification.
Colonel and writer Tran The Tuyen, former Editor-in-Chief of Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, commented: "I believe that writer Trinh Quang Phu is one of the Vietnamese writers who has written the most and most successfully about President Ho Chi Minh. Trinh Quang Phu's works possess both literary soul and journalistic qualities, with specific events, places, and people."

The value of " Following in the Footsteps of the Great Man" lies not only in its vast and captivating information, but also in the perseverance, persistence, and determination of the writer Trinh Quang Phu. The writer's journey is also a valuable lesson for young people in today's context; maintaining and pursuing a goal for decades requires a high degree of discipline and determination.

Present at the exchange session from early on, Hoang Huynh Phuong Vy (a student from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) shared: “The work ' Following in the Footsteps of the Great Leader' and the author's creative journey is an example for young people to follow. When reading the work, I see the spirit and determination of a patriotic young man like President Ho Chi Minh, and I also feel the vitality that the work is spreading.”
