Component project 2 of the Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway section passing through Dong Thap province is still facing land acquisition issues, leading to difficulties for the contractor in construction.
Component Project 2 of the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway commenced on August 27, 2024, and is expected to be completed and put into use on July 5, 2026. The project has a total length of approximately 11.43 km, of which the section through Tien Giang province is 7.62 km, and the remainder is in Dong Thap province.
Workers are busy constructing the Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway, component project 2, the section passing through Dong Thap province.
Major Nguyen Manh Hung - Director of Enterprise 98.2, Truong Son Construction Corporation (the contractor) said that the section through Dong Thap province is under the contractor's responsibility. This section is 3.8km long and passes through the districts of Thap Muoi and Cao Lanh.
Currently, to speed up construction progress, the contractor increased the number of workers by 30% and the number of machines and equipment by 50% at the construction site in early December.
To date, the construction progress of the two bridges, Canal 307 and Cai Lan, has basically met the investor's requirements. However, regarding the road section, the contractor is still facing difficulties due to land acquisition issues.
Specifically, regarding technical infrastructure, the entire route has not yet been relocated as required. Meanwhile, the project affects more than 200 households. To date, two households in key locations have still refused to hand over the land to the construction unit.
The construction progress of the bridges included in the contract package is basically meeting the investor's requirements.
The first and most important site where land acquisition is not yet complete is located at the intersection with Provincial Road (DT) 850. This is the boundary between Component Project 1 and Component Project 2.
The next site clearance issue is located on service road number 3. This location is still problematic, causing difficulties for the contractor in gathering machinery and equipment for construction.
Regarding technical infrastructure, the relevant units have planned the relocation, but the specific timeframe for handing over a cleared site to the construction unit is still unknown.
According to Mr. Huynh Xuan Binh, Director of the Land Development Center of Dong Thap province, the construction site for component project 2 of the Cao Lan - An Huu expressway, passing through the province, is basically favorable as all affected households have agreed on the compensation plan.
The remaining two households will also hand over the cleared land to the construction unit in December, in order to ensure the project's progress as scheduled.
Component project 2 of the Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway has a total length of approximately 11.43km. Of this, about 3.8km passes through Dong Thap province and more than 7.62km through Tien Giang province.
The project, with a total investment of 3,856 billion VND, is managed by the People's Committee of Tien Giang province. Its starting point intersects with component project 1 of the Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway at Km16 in My Hiep commune, Cao Lanh district (Dong Thap province).
The project's endpoint intersects with the Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway project at kilometer marker 98+950, approximately 1.8km from the An Thai Trung interchange, in An Thai Trung commune, Cai Be district (Tien Giang province).
