According to information from PVOIL, after the pilot phase, the unit will continue to upgrade, convert and develop E10 gasoline sales points, ready to sell nationwide from January 1, 2026. Currently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is collecting opinions to submit to the Government to issue a roadmap for applying biofuels.

Mr. Cao Hoai Duong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PVOIL, said that the unit has invested in biofuel blending facilities at warehouses, including both main warehouses and transit warehouses. With the policy of using biofuel, PVOIL has prepared early to be ready for this transition.

PVOIL’s pilot sale of E10 gasoline from August 1 aims to help customers gradually get used to the new fuel. At the same time, PVOIL is also stepping up propaganda to bring the Government ’s policy into real life.

Regarding the blending system, PVOIL upgraded and renovated the current E5 RON92 blending stations to meet the demand for E10 RON95 gasoline. The items include repairing tanks, improving the blending system and updating modern technology to meet the technical standards of E10 gasoline.

In addition, the experience in operating the E5 gasoline blending system since 2010 is a solid foundation for PVOIL to switch to E10 gasoline with low risk and shortened implementation time.

PVOIL also has the advantage of a wide distribution network, flexibility in production operations, and a stable source of E100 fuel.

E10 gasoline is a biofuel that is a blend of base gasoline with 10% absolute ethanol, while current E5 gasoline contains only 5% ethanol. With a higher ethanol ratio, E10 is capable of reducing CO and HC emissions by 20-30%, while also having a higher octane rating, helping to increase engine combustion efficiency and better protect the environment.
