Analyzing the 2024 high school graduation exam sample questions for History in detail, Ms. Tran Thi Thuy, a teacher in Nam Dinh, said that the structure of the 2024 sample exam remains the same as in 2023, with knowledge mainly based on the textbook curriculum. The exam is quite suitable for the current abilities of students and has a high degree of differentiation.

The sample test consists of 40 multiple-choice questions, focusing on 12th-grade history knowledge. Of these, 24 questions cover Vietnamese history from 1919 to 1975.

The exam consists of 5 questions from the 11th-grade history curriculum, including: 2 questions covering the major aspects of Vietnamese history from the late 19th century to the end of World War I, 1 question about the Russian October Revolution of 1917 and the construction of socialism in the Soviet Union (1921-1941), 1 question about Vietnam from 1858 to the end of the 19th century. The remaining question is about World War II.

Overall, the exam started to differentiate candidates from question 30, with high differentiation from questions 33 to 40.

According to Ms. Thuy, with this year's exam, students can easily achieve a score above 8 points, and above-average students will do well up to question 37 to score 9.5 or higher. Besides thorough preparation in terms of knowledge, students need to solve problems quickly and accurately, and maintain a stable mental and physical state.

Commenting on the Geography exam, Mr. Vu Hai Nam, a teacher at the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities, assessed that the sample exam closely followed the curriculum, with content entirely within the Grade 12 Geography program.

The questions are logically arranged in increasing order of difficulty, making it easy to classify candidates according to their level. The exam includes many questions requiring the use of geographical skills, demanding that candidates have problem-solving abilities and avoiding rote memorization, cramming, or shortcuts.

Specifically, the Geography knowledge section has 21 questions, covering the following topics: Physical Geography (4 questions), Population Geography (2 questions), Geography of Economic Sectors (8 questions), and Geography of Economic Regions (7 questions).

The Geography skills section has 19 questions, including: 15 questions on the Atlas, 2 questions on data tables, and 2 questions on graphs.

Teacher Nam believes that questions designed to differentiate candidates require students to have coherent thinking, broad social knowledge, problem-solving skills, and strong critical thinking abilities.

Overall, the sample Geography exam for the 2024 high school graduation exam is not too difficult for students with above-average academic ability. Students only need to master basic Geography skills and theoretical knowledge to score 7 points.

For candidates aiming for high scores, it's essential to do well on questions 43, 51, and from question 71 onwards. These are application-level and advanced application questions requiring long-term and consistent study and practice. In this year's sample exam, the Atlas questions still replace page numbers with page content, so students need to understand the page content and table of contents to effectively use the Atlas.

Regarding the Civic Education subject, Ms. Doan Thi Vanh Khuyen from Tuyensinh247.com analyzed that the 2024 high school graduation exam has 36 questions based on 12th-grade knowledge (accounting for 90%); and 4 questions based on 11th-grade knowledge (accounting for 10%).

The questions cover familiar topics from the 12th grade curriculum: Law enforcement; Citizens' equality in certain areas of life (Marriage and family, Labor, Business); Citizens and fundamental freedoms (The right to inviolability of the body, the right to protection of life and health, etc.); Citizens and democratic rights (The right to complain and denounce; the right to participate in state and social management, etc.).

Some of the questions are from the 11th grade Economics curriculum, covering topics such as: the function of money, the impact of the law of value, and the impact of the law of supply and demand.

Overall, the exam closely followed the knowledge in the textbook, with no unusual questions, making it easy for candidates to achieve a score of 9-10.
