According to reporters' observations on the morning of January 27th, along main roads such as To Huu, Dai Linh, Bach Thanh Phong (Dai Mo), Duong Dinh Nghe, etc., hundreds of stalls selling peach blossoms, kumquats, apricot blossoms, orchids, etc., were set up, creating a vibrant "springtime picture".
At this time of year, people are also starting to get busy shopping for Tet (Lunar New Year), choosing ornamental plants and fresh flowers to decorate their homes and offices. Besides shopping, many people are also taking the opportunity to take photos and enjoy the festive atmosphere as Tet approaches.

This year, the market for Tet plants and flowers is abundant in both variety and style, from traditional kumquat trees and peach blossoms to antique peach blossoms, mossy peach blossoms, bonsai apricot blossoms, phalaenopsis orchids, and imported snow apricot blossoms.
Mr. Toan (63 years old), a small trader selling peach blossoms and kumquats on Bach Thanh Phong Street (Dai Mo), said: " The Tet flower market this year is basically the same as every year, and prices haven't increased much. My garden has about 2,000 peach blossom trees and 1,000 kumquat trees this year, and I hope to sell them all before the 30th day of Tet."
Meanwhile, many flower vendors on To Huu Street (Ha Dong) shared that purchasing power is still low at this time, even though they imported a variety of flowers such as peach blossoms, kumquats, lilies, chrysanthemums, roses, etc., early on. However, most customers are only checking prices and haven't actually made many purchases yet. " Perhaps people will shop more closer to Tet," the vendors said.

Some vendors added that, due to the difficult economic situation , people tend to spend more frugally, prioritizing smaller, more affordable bouquets of flowers instead of large pots and baskets like before.
However, many vendors still expect a surge in demand in the days leading up to Tet, especially from the 28th to the 30th of the 12th lunar month. " These past few days have mainly been about setting up and arranging things nicely, but people will only buy a lot closer to Tet. We're also trying to keep prices stable to attract customers," said a small trader on To Huu Street.
Meanwhile, in the Nhat Tan peach blossom village and Tu Lien kumquat orchards (Hong Ha ward, Hanoi ), the buying and selling atmosphere is starting to pick up in the days leading up to Tet. Garden owners say that from the beginning of the twelfth lunar month, customers have started flocking to choose ornamental plants for Tet. Many beautiful peach trees, ancient peach trees, or kumquat trees with unique shapes, abundant fruit, and round canopies have been ordered or rented by customers early on.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, a peach blossom garden owner in Nhat Tan, shared: “ This year the weather has been favorable, so the peach blossoms bloomed on time, with beautiful colors and thick petals. Customers are also coming to see them, and many trees priced from a few million to tens of millions of dong have already been purchased .” Besides selling outright, the service of renting peach blossoms and kumquat trees for Tet (Lunar New Year) continues to be chosen by many families and organizations to save costs and for convenience in caring for them.
Prices for Tet (Lunar New Year) plants and flowers this year have generally not fluctuated too much. Common peach blossom branches cost from 300,000 to 1.5 million VND; shaped peach trees and ancient peach trees range from several million to tens of millions of VND depending on shape and age. Kumquat trees are priced from 500,000 VND to 5-7 million VND per pot, with large, elaborately shaped kumquat trees potentially costing up to tens of millions of VND.
Besides traditional peach blossoms and kumquats, this year's Tet flower market also sees the rise of many modern decorative flower varieties such as phalaenopsis orchids, tulips, apricot blossoms, and exotic roses. Flower shops and shopping malls have also launched many pre-designed flower baskets and potted plants early to serve the gifting needs at the end of the year.

According to many small business owners, purchasing power this year shows signs of improvement, especially on weekends and in the period leading up to Tet. People are not only concerned about price but also pay more attention to the appearance, feng shui significance, and durability of plants and flowers during Tet.
The market for Tet (Lunar New Year) plants and flowers is not just about buying and selling; it also contributes to creating a vibrant spring atmosphere throughout the streets of the capital. Amidst the bustling traffic, the pink peach blossoms, golden kumquats, and brightly blooming apricot blossoms signal the approaching new spring, bringing with it hopes for a prosperous, abundant, and fortunate new year.
