(HNMO) - On the afternoon of May 24th, Team 24 of the Market Management Department ( Hanoi Market Management Bureau) conducted a surprise inspection of a children's toy store at 162 La Phu Street, Chua Tong Hamlet, La Phu Commune, Hoai Duc District.
Here, authorities inspected and seized nearly 2,000 items of children's toys manufactured abroad without invoices or documentation, including: toy hammers, mini handheld fans, large toy cars, building block sets, assembling toy sets, fishing toy sets, various toy gun sets, laser pointers, toy doll sets, etc.
Working with the authorities, the shop owner, Ms. Phan Thi Nga, stated that all the goods were purchased from an unknown person without any accompanying invoices or documents. The inspection team seized all the goods and will process them according to regulations.
Recently, despite warnings about the negative impact on children's personality development, some children's toy stores have openly sold violent toys such as guns, knives, and swords when customers inquire about purchasing them. Notably, even though these items are priced 10% to 30% higher this year compared to previous years, many customers still seek to buy them.
In light of this situation, to prevent smuggling and counterfeit goods and protect domestic businesses, before and during International Children's Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Hanoi Market Management Department directed all its forces to intensify inspections and handle violations by organizations and individuals trading in children's toys; smart toys with multiple functions; and harmful or violence-inciting children's toys that are smuggled in.
According to Tran Viet Hung, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Market Management Department, the unit focuses on inspecting the origin, source, invoices, labeling, conformity certificates, and other legal regulations in the management of children's toys... to prevent the smuggling of harmful and violence-inciting toys. The Market Management Department will publicly announce the names of establishments, addresses, and types of violating products on mass media as prescribed to warn consumers.
